  2. The Custom Member Label Club

I shouldn't put my nose in such a strange place... Maybe a Moose Factory habit... BTW, I was curious about the normal label process and never expected to get a custom one. Is there a place where these normal labels are listed with the number of posts required to get them? Nostalgia maybe...

@N_O_Body: your avatar is wonderful! Regarding the sign, I was referring to the small BAT I did... was it in October? It should be a DAT file... Punch. I hope that's the one made with juice and alcohol. Not a fist...

@Fred_Ginger: thanks! I'll need it to survive holidays... Anyway, despite the fact that we've been customers here for a while, I thinks that we didn't have the opportunity to engage a direct conversation yet, strange and unfortunate since you seem to be a very nice person. Do you want a drink? @MsD: I'm getting back in the worried people category... @toxicpiano: I'm glad you're aware of some strange things you might dream/think and their possible influence on your behaviour. Talking about it is obviously a big step and one that is not so easy to do. Like many friends here already told you, without help, you might underestimate what's happening and have a great pain finding and removing the roots of such thoughts. I'm neither psy or preacher but if you need to talk about it some more, you can PM me. @vid: you have to look at it in a positive way - days are beginning to get longer! @Voar Tok: yes a while. Holidays: quiet, with my family. My friend of Ottawa will visit me. I have to find an apartment too... Maybe I should BAT a little more my mosque... And you? @N_O_Body: in November, I cleaned up my computer a little bit. I just realised that I erased something I didn't want to: the moose sign. I sent you a copy if I remember well. Do you still have it? I might use it if I start a new city during holidays. About Madeira wines, they are really delicious most of the time. They are largely underestimated, which is not a bad thing at all for my very thin budget! I think I'll take that today.

Hi everyone! Sorry for neglecting you lately... Many important things are happening actually in my life and a great part of my head and heart are somewhere else (for good reasons fortunately). @hym: since I don't want to get back on this subject, I'll just wish that someday, you'll be able to live in a very different culture than yours for a while. Travelling is good but not enough to go beyond superficial appearance most of the time. A few years ago, I was thinking almost the same way you do but living in Africa has been something incredibly rich on many aspects. Regarding dating, strange... When I was your age, my parents never forbade me dating but we were talking about it openly and I was aware of the problems it might cause. In fact, this dialog has been really interesting and my parents had good points. I understood them well enough to act that way even if I wasn't forbade to date. @sloppet: a piece of cake please! Where's our man BTW? @toxicpiano: yours posts can be quite disturbing sometimes... I'm keep trying to promote peace everywhere (here included) so I have some advice for you: stop playing Counter strike. SC4 is less violent by a great deal... @MsD: I wonder what will be on your table for Holidays... Pork heart? Beef tongue? Blood pudding? Will Truckin_Papa be back before Christmas? How your arm is doing? @N_O_Body: last weekend, I tasted a very strange but outstanding beer: the Duchesse de Bourgogne. That's a brown beer maturated in a oak barrel. What is particular is that these barrels were previously used for... wine. The taste is really surprising and I would even place it 2nd on my list just after a good stout. Are politicians quieter now? Or is that me that is too much on orbit since Saturday?
  18. Hi everyone! Some kind of party here? I'm in!!!!!!!!! Welcoming a new BATter is a great event and always a party So a welcome to you mattb325 . I was in the same situation in late August: no 3d experience at all. 3 BATs later, I'm working on a very challenging project which is at the same time a laboratory to explore some techniques. That explain why some informal tutorial are in it and that my progress is slow. And that's what my friend MsD is referring to. You're 100% right about Philippbo tutorials: they're outstanding. Most of what I've learned of BATing (with experimenting things myself) is coming straight from these tutorials. I agree that your texture work turned out pretty well. Since I like to give constructive feedback, I'll suggest you to explore a little more the great possibilities of nitelitle. Be careful to avoid saturating too much your surfaces in both light and colors (if you intend to make a series). Usually, the game exaggerate it even more. Feel free to ask help, you'll get it 99% of the time. see you later!

@N_O_Body: how did you find that debate? I missed the French one so I listen to the English one. Will Paul Martin be the next Captain Canada? The most ironic thing is that he's increasingly looking like Jean Chr

  21. bonjour!

Hi bread_stick_2001, your name sounds French too... Like hym just said, language issue is touchy here. That's something I experienced in the past... But if you would like to talk a little bit French, you can PM me! There's a lot of Francophones and Francophiles members but we're respecting the rules most of the time so they're quite difficult to spot. Bienvenue! (Welcome)

There's something particular here: my 500th post. So I came to the best place around to do it. For the one who nominated in the Highest Quality Poster, I'll prove you you're wrong!!! @N_O_Body: most of people refers African languages as dialects. I agree that a some of them are but it's not the majority. In fact, most of them are really languages of their own. That piece of land is probably the most interesting and challenging one for linguists. Referring all of them as dialect is probably an habit coming straigth from the colonial and slavery era when African people were considered to be without culture and history. So the language Wolof is very interesting since it's probably one of the closest to the one used by... Pharaohs of Egypt. Jerejef is to thank someone at the 1st pers. of sing., sama a possessive pronoun at the 1st sing. pers. and xarit is friend. The x is pronounced like the kh in Arabic, a throat sound very strange for English people but even more for French ones. Nothing similar in our language! Back on the track... There's an interesting debate initiated by Chiekh Anta Diop a few decades ago. He gave us another perspective of the great Egyptian civilization of Antiquity telling us that it probably wasn't as the european people wanted to see it: mostly white. Yes, most of the knowledge widespread today has been dug (2 meanings here...) during the colonial and euro-centrist era. The proofs Diop gave shook all previous conceptions and shocked a lot, thus the reason he's almost unknown in Western countries despite the fact that he's a very great scientist/historian. One aspect particularly interesting is the analysis of West African languages like Wolof and Serer, people that probably migrated from the Nil valley when the Sahara was a fertile plain. Anyway, reindeer is indeed a great choice at this time of the year! Regarding the babysitting issue, I would just say that everyone here has a baby part inside of them. Having some kind of fun writing stuff on a thread is a good sign in my opinion. @Voar Tok: well, traffic has increased lately and if it stays that way, you'll have to edit the target of your bookmark quite often! @MsD: the zukeblaster device is to prevent these beasts to eat the seat. It's not supposed to harm them too much but only to stun them. If it wouldn't of that protection, I would have to check the device all the time... so using myself as a chair warming device would be more interesting! @vidioman: I agree. I was a little bit worried in fact. @hym: I agree that being a Yank has some benefits (people in Niger or Sudan are not... let's say... in the same situation) but I wouldn't change my Canadian passeport for anything else when it's time to travel. I'm really concerned about where humanity is heading so being interested about politics is something important. People are complaining that the political system is sick: they're 100% right. It's not by giving up and left it aside that it will change. In fact, that would help the dirty handed getting dirtier. I'm interested by what's happening here but elsewhere too (I even risk a few replies regarding W lately). I'm considering humanity as a whole and it's important to know what's happening outside our borders (and that's probably a great flaw in the US). I consider local patriotism as something not really positive since it puts another barrier between us and the others. We're all on the same planet. Instead of offering a fist, we should be offering a open hand... Weather issue: If I'm not giving any news until Monday, send people here with shovels to get us out of snow. The snow we had last week was almost gone but we should get 50 cm today. That's the look of it, taken a few minutes ago... I don't want to hear Let it snow, let it snow let it snow. There are times when I wish I'd be in Senegal. Now is. Bye!

Hi everyone! It's getting cold outside... -20 C without the wind... It's a nice thing to have a warm place here. @hym: well, thanks but. I never knew that such an award even exist. Purely unintentional and accidental. Especially that I'm coming here only for... fun! @vidioman: now that you're a rewound member, will your custom member label change? @sloppet: is your cake made with fair trade coffee? It should since fair trade coffee is nice and usually tastes better than the other one. Unfortunately, despite its availability, fair trade chocolate is not yet as good as the bad one... @ACEfanatic: yes.
