Dayton, Harrisburg, and Burlington, VT all seem to be reasonable for #3

No aircraft is water-tight when it's doors are wide-open. but they are designed to be light, this one would not have had a heavy fuel load for the short LGA-CLT flight, and the fuel is lighter than the water anyway...They're very much heavier than water and don't tend to just plumet under water so long as they're not over-stressed on the 'landing' The 146 is an exception because it is a high-wing design, so it doesn't have the rather substantial displacement of the wings to keep the aircraft afloat. Also, the doors on the aircraft extend significantly below the 90* point of the fuselage. I guess there are a few out there (Dash-8 comes to mind).

They were very fortunate it was a bird-strike and not weather related. The flight conditions were quite ideal for a minimal speed entry into the water, and with good visibility to set up for it. The flight crew no doubt did very well in this situation as could be seen from the minimal damage to the aircraft and the apparent calm effective evacuation in spite of the water. But having people walk away from plane crashes is far more common...remember, this was comming after fresh news that for the first time in airline history, there were 2 consecutive calender years with no fatalities in the US. I'd like to think we could expect this kind of safety and professionalism from the airlines, even in the worst situation. There is no additional sealing needed. Modern aircraft (most since the mid 1980s) came with flight computers that had functions to set escape slides/rafts, cabin lighting, batteries, circuitry, and and fuel for different emergency situations...but nothing could be done to make the bottom more water tight.

lol, there are no 'ditch switches'. An aircraft is a sealed pressure vessle. And since the aircraft is air tight, it is also water tight. I'm not quite sure why people think it's surprising that an aircraft can float on water. They are, after all, light enough to fly.

Ok, I'm going to hand this over to Mother of Invention now to post some pics. I've got one here for people to guess at in the interim. If it's guessed, that's fine; if not, that's fine too. MoI: Don't wait for people to guess this one, just post the next round when you can. Edit: Er... I did some checking up on this one. It appears there is no longer any commercial service into the airport, which would have made this next to impossible unless you specifically recognize it.

The important clues were the NC state flag, and the less obvious one was the marshy terrain. I knew this one would be tough, but I thought the clues visible in the picture would be spotted more regularly.

I general, muck's observations are very good (and vital to figuring out the airport), but each time the conclusion is incorrect (it is not an island or in Texas, for example). You have had a post that was all correct except for your final guess of the airport.

Every neighbor connection must have two-way access into your city. Period.; The reason for this is because the way sim city (stupidly) handles neighbor connection traffic. Because SC4 aggregates the jobs of a neighbor across the whole tile, the nearest (as the crow flies) will be prefered even if this means a MUCH longer commute in the neighbor. Also because of this, each sim must return from wence they came...meaning back through the same neighbor connection. Why maxis did not opt to further breakdown the job distribution and report it when saving so other cities could access the information, i don't know (i.e. break it down by 16ths of the map). Also, they could have similarly added distance reporting for various different neighbor connex (i.e. connection "4" must travel x tiles to access 100 jobs). With these two small items, the neighbor pathfind could have been improved to the same quality you can find within a single city tile. But no, you cannot make a one-way connection to a city that is also functional. You cannot trick it by making the last tile a road tile and connecting them straight because sims either can't get in or out. You could make a lot that converts an avenue into oneway for the 'northbound' side and subway for the 'southbound' side, this would allow you to make an effective link that behaved properly and was cosmetically improved, but you would still need a tile of avenue. I've considered doing this before, but always came to the conclusion that it didn't look any better than using an avenue and having the cumbersome Z-shaped offset.

Muck is incorrect about the Texas flag, but nevertheless, this is an excellent observation. Looks kinda upside-down to be Texas .... It is not Tri-Cities And, berubium, knowledge of aviation isn't going to help as much as general geographic knowledge...like...what could possibly cause a change in the color of the folliage over a 2' difference in elevation?

Wow, that building on the left looks like it should be in Vegas and called "Moscow, Moscow"... I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

I must admit though, I've seen a very good effort on a Paris Map about a year back (the author escapes me)... That was certainly my inspiration for this.
