The UK's Most Pointless Highways
Cody02 replied to p4p3rc1ip's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning

We have these all over the place and not just for junctions and urban centres. They are always after the entrance to the motorway and usually numerous times inbetween.quote> Whate Duke means is that every mile you go on an Interstate Highway in the United States you have a mile marker that marks each mile, so even if you don't have one of those signs that tell the distance to the next city; you know where you are. Which in the UK probably aren't needed as much seeing how you don't have freeways that go long distances in the middle of nowhere. Here is a picture of one: -
bourneid- Its called the Holladay Park Plaza By Bixel. Its on the STEX, here is the link- https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=15522

Yoman3, I don't know what the file name is. I did look in my plugins folder but I couldn't find it. But I did get it off the STEX, you'll have to search for it. Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone! blahdy- Yep your signs come in handy, I guess I should have shown more pictures of them. I will certainly get the Boston Central Artery when it comes out too.

Hello everyone, you all have some very nice airports, especially since these great packs have been released. I did have an old airport I had shown on this thread but it was deleted (so was the region), so now I have a new airport which is much more realistic. It is of my current city Hawkinsburg. It's a large airport but not an international one because my city will probably never reach that size to need an international airport. Here it is Hawkinsburg National Airport Here is the terminal, which has 35 gates. Here is the lodging and the ATCT. As you will notice each hotel has a nice park for their visitors. This pic shows the freight hub and general aviation parking; KHNA handles a lot of cargo. This is the base for the 160th Airlift Wing, for what airforce I don't know. As you can see it has C-130s, F-14s, and tanks. This pic shows more amenities of the airport. Here are the runways, I'm not sure how accurate my runway lengths are but I based them off how long a real boeing 707 is compared to the one in the game. The total length of each runway is from the end of each blast pad to the other. Night time shot. Thanks to all the people who made the lots, bats, props, etc. that made this airport possible, thankyou! I hoped you enjoyed my airport! Cody02

Very nice, after seeing your Baton Rouge CJ, I know this will continue to be great and realistic. Keep up the good work! (can't wait to see the airport)

Oops double post, sorry.

Nice work! Very Creative! Keep up the good work!

Wow I like what I'm seeing TMS. The parks, the nice houses, the booming commercial center, they all make Duchati look like a very nice place to live. Although we've all notice the clogged arteries of the LRAD, I wonder whats in store for it now... Also, it looks like Duchati is going to have some very wacky weather, from cold to hot in 2 days! That kind of weather might deter me from living their, if I could that is. Very good update and as always keep up the good work!

Very cool update (literally)! Can't wait to see the city develope! ~Cody02~
-
Very interesting article, and newspaper, although I have no idea what those other countries are (except Independence City). In real life its been snowing too, where I live its snowed quite a bit, but nothing compared to what Duchati has been getting. My brother and I made a snow-man. ~Cody02~

Really cool update, I think you made the university much better, although those are some odd looking El Rail stations. I like The Duchati Gaurdian very much, it looks real. Talk of War sounds interesting, and I like the add on Having a hard time finding a job? I also like the symbol for the Duchati Dragons (how did you do it?). Keep up the good work! ~Cody02~

Very good update, lets hope this third try will make it! I can see very many similarities in this one to the second one, but I have come to the conclusion that I like this one better. Also I really like the history around the Duchati area. Everything looks great! My favorite shot is the last one of the A96 tunnel. My favorite part of it is all those trees along the Weyer River, they look very peaceful, I could see my self standing under them. I'm going to put this back in my signature right now! Keep up the good work! ~Cody02~ P.S. Maybe you should save your cities files to a flash drive or a CD-R/CD-RW, so if you have problems again you can still have your city. I use a flash drive and a CD, I update the CD once a month and I update the flash drive everytime I'm done playing my city. I also use a CD for the Plugins that I update once a month also. (Not sure if you have done this so please excuse it if you have)

This sounds great, all though I'm not from Atlanta. But I am from Memphis, so it would be cool to see a recreation of a city in the south. I can't wait to see all the suburbs, freeways and mass transit. I like transportation CJ's and realistic ones, I hope you try for some good realism. Can't wait for the first update, if I like it I'll stay with this CJ! ~Cody02~
-
I hope your not stopping this wonderful CJ, its been a while since you last updated. Although I understand it is difficult to do CJ's, takes much time, and thats something not many of us have a lot of. I had a CJ but then I had computer troubles and lost the city.
-
WOW! COOL SKYLINE! Thats what I'm talking about! ~Cody02~
-
Well it looks like this CJ is going off to a great start. Although I'd have to say I like Glen Harbor better because I like roads, but this is a really realistic pedestrian walk CJ. Yep so far this CJ passes with a 100% realism grade (I'm sure it will get better too). Good work and keep up the work on the MAPP! I'll be in and out from time to time. ~Cody02~

Very good update, I like mass transit projects! ~Cody02~
-
-
The only thing I find wrong with your airport is I believe there should be more taxiways to certain parts of each runway. Otherwise its a very quaint little airport, good job! ~Cody02~
-
Woah! That mass transit map is brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention your interstate 495 loop! (Good choice of numbers) What I want to know is how you make those signs for the Duchati mass transit companys. I know you'd have to use photoshop (I wish I had it). as I always say..............Good job!! and keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~Cody02~

Wow this is pretty cool what you have going on here, I really like the newspaper and that sign that says Galveston on it. But I can't wait till you start growing your city, I want to see how realistic you are! Keep up the good work, this could be an up and coming CJ! ~Cody02~
-
I had no idea you had to start over, sorry to hear that.... BUT THIS NEW DUCHATI IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really cool, I like your downtown area much and as always your mass transit system is the best! Keep doing what your doing because its great! ~Cody02~
