Darmok - I am pretty sure that I got that one off STEX. As for the Mormon Temple, here is the link to it https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?mode=files&filetype=all&category=default&sortby=DatePosted&show=12&Str=mormon . I guess it does kind of look like a gas mask...I never noticed that before!! I will have to see if I have a link for the gas mask building as we will call it for now!! As for the farm...I now understand your comment!! Dang nuns...all I ever wanted to do was get them patrons drunk and send them back for a joke...guess the joke is on me now!! The farm is one of Barbyw's most recently released BSC Farms. As for your criticism...it just broke my heart and now I can't stand to type any more!! Just kidding...I like constructive criticism...reminds me I'm still human. I thought about just using the straight pieces like I've seen in other CJ's. But, the reason that I use them...and will continue to use them for my parks...is because with Jeronij's park fences the transit enabled tarmac trails make a clean transition into the park. The fences meet, and I like the clean look that it gives. Otherwise, to me anyway, it looks like it is very choppy...no continuity to the entrance. If that makes any sense anyway. Just look at my pics, and you will see how they transition smoothly. That is the sole reason I do it that way. Now ya know. And knowing is half the battle kids! (Go ahead, date yourself with that one!! sloppet - As always, your visit to the TRV is truely appreciated. I may be looking for a Commissioner of Tourism in a future update...I'll have to keep you in mind for the job. To All - As always...each visit is appreciated...and each comment is treasured... Keep em coming... (Hmmm...maybe I have just figured out a NEW AND IMPROVED tag line...since Darmok kind of pilfered mine...hmmm )
  2. Anduin Valley Revisited

Oh my. [:0] This city is gonna be great, I can see it coming. I definitely like the layout...good mix of residential and industrial. The seaport looks great. And the railyard and rail connections are supperb. I only have one bit of constructive criticism for this one...in the first seaport growth picture (2-11)...near the fire boat dock. You have a fast shipping dock between the fire boat dock and the industrial shipping dock. That boat is gonna have a heck of a time getting out to sea, being that close to the fire boat dock. It would probably be near impossible in real life. Just my opinion though. Other than that...absolutely great update. And the Denny's idea... truely a masterful bit of humor if I do say so myself!! Awesome start to another great Darmok city... keep em coming!! PS: I saw you kinda stole my tag line in at the end of the update...oh well, guess since I didn't trademark it I couldn't keep it forever... Oh well...I'm still the original keep em coming guy!!

With all of the major construction projects completed, and the city running virtually on auto-pilot, Mayor Emily and the Board of Directors for Regional Shipping, LLC. settled back and relaxed. They surveyed their city, enterprise, their creation and breathed a collective sigh of priase. They talked, smoked cigars and drank fine imported wine (which of course was now legal due to the end of prohibition.) Mayor Emily had something on her mind however. She was unhappy with their current arrangement. Not only was city government housed in city hall, but so were the corporate offices for Regional Shipping, LLC. She was afraid to say anything however, afraid for the repercussions that it would have. After she broached the subject with them however, they all agreed that they had overstayed their welcome. They needed their own space; they needed to be the land lord rather than the tennant. With that, Mayor Emily gave them a small piece of land near city hall on which to build. A glorious tower was created in which to house their corporate offices. Picture LC11-1 With the creation of the new corporate headquarters, there was an empty space in between their and Riverside Park. Since Emily was now a strong advocate of open park land, she hired a local contractor to build an addition to Riverside Park, to cover the empty space. In the picture, the entrances to the corporate headquarters of Regional Shipping, LLC. are on the left and the original park space is on the right. Picture LC11-2 With that, we complete our construction of Lighthouse Cove. In my next update, I will present overall city pictures, an updated region pic, and some Census Data. ***************************** Personal Messages: jacqulina - As always, thanks for stopping by. It's always nice to have an oil tycoon visit town! Hope all goes well with your CJ. Can't wait to visit. Thanks again, and stop back soon. oroen - Thanks for dropping by. I really take great pride in trying to make my cities realistic looking, or at least believable. I spend alot of time creating those spaces around my buildings because in alot of situations, that is what is found in real life. Creating these park spaces and such is probably my most favorite part of the game. It gives me great pleasure when people enjoy my work. The park-n-ride idea...well, that was just something that came to me. I was thinking of Interstate 70 when I created that. I-70 runs from Baltimore, MD to somewhere in California. It is one of the few interstates in the country that actually runs from the east coast to the west coast (I realize there are several, but compaired to the total number of interstates in the country these number few.) In Baltimore, MD, where it starts on the east coast, there is a large park-n-ride area at the beginning, which is where I drew my inspiration. I also have several in my area as well along the interstate, but Baltimore is where I got the general idea from. Again, don't be a stranger and drop in again sometime soon. MrCinatit - Ah, my financial benefactor. Always glad to see you come out of lurking status. First of all, I appreciate your praise and how much you enjoy my CJ. Coming from someone who's writing skills and imagination rival mine, this is a HUGE, truely GIGANTIC compliment and I am humbled. Your CJ is truely awesome, absolutely undescribable in proper terms and I hope that my CJ one day measures up to yours. For this, I thank you. As for the parks, see my response to oroen above. As for the fishing docks, this is probably one of my most favorite areas in Lighthouse Cove. That and the parks near city hall. They are all simplistic in design, yet very spectacular areas. The rail system, well that is another story. It took me between 3 and 4 hours to do that one. I kept building and destroying, building and destroying just to get the right look. Again, I thank you for stopping by and commenting...especially such wonderful comments. As for lurking, please feel free...and comment any time you wish! Darmok - As always, thanks for stopping by. As written above, the parks are my pride and joy. I really try to give them a life of their own. I guess these are the parks I would conceptualize for my neighborhood if I had the opportunity to build them. Chaeau Grand Cru...um, not familiar with that name. Can ya explain for me...sorry. As for the cathedral...yes, it is on STEX. It is the San Diego Mormon Temple if I remember correctly. As always, a pleasure reading your comments. Keep em coming... sloppet - Thanks for stopping by. Hope all goes well over in your CJ. Come back again sometime soon... dhoppeii - Thanks again dear friend. As always, a pleasure. PEG's creations...well, I don't need to say much about them. They all look fantastic. I just can't wait to use his new lighthouse in my CJ! The cemetary...funny how that came about. I was actually terraforming for something else...don't even remember what now. Probably another park Anyway, I got the terraforming done and didn't like it. So, I just started messing around and realized I didn't place any of the reward cemetaries yet. So...there is the cemetary. The path across the river...the whole river under the buildings idea...also last minute. But, if I do say so myself it turned out quite well. And yes, I do realize if you build it they will come. Thanks again. To All - This is the last update for Lighthouse Cove. The overall pics I was talking about will come this afternoon or sometime tomorrow morning. I do appreciate all of the wonderful comments. I have taken so much from other people's journals. I'm glad to have been of some inspiration to others as well. I don't have enough room to thank everyone for their individual inspirations, but those of you know who you are. Until the next update... Keep em coming...
  4. Goldenrod Plains

As always KOSC, simply superb. I always enjoy reading this one. The city pics are always beautiful, and you tech shots of the terraforming are always great too! So, here we go... 32.01 - As said, the terraforming is always great. 32.02 - Dhoppeii's manor looks great...I am so jealous of my good friend! 32.03 - Story lines are great, but natural looking, random shots always give a certain flare to a CJ. The shot looks great. 32.04 - That's a school building? Which one? It doesn't look familiar to me. The pic looks good though. 32.05 - Nice shot. I see that two more unnamed manors were built. They look great with Jeronij's park fences and tarmac trails. 32.06 - Once again, your terraforming looks great. 32.07 - I like the look of this village. After closer inspection though, I believe you made this village in a lake? Could we see a picture of that entire area? It is definitely an idea I'm not sure I've see before...may have to use that idea myself! Another fine job. I'm off to play a little and work on my CJ. Keep em coming...
  5. The Four Sisters Region

The new pics look great. I can't wait for this area to appear. I must say, I definitely love the finished look that the sea walls give to an island. Makes it look like an island that was man made. Well, either man made or an island that had the Army Corp of Engineers come in and build retaining walls to keep the island from disappearing into the sea. I just have one suggestion/constructive criticism. In the second set of pics...second picture. You show a dock area and several marinas. The marinas are on a different elevation than the marinas. Unless you are going for an industrial dock look, you probably should have used the Commercial or Residential retaining walls. You could terraform the area so that it was all level. Plus, I think they both have parking lot pieces like the industrial set. I think it would just look more consistent with the overall look of that city. Just my $0.02. Overall, everything looks great as usual. Keep em coming...
  6. Anduin Valley Revisited

I believe I need to agree with what KOSC just said...Simtrop has evolved greatly in the last two years. I bet you would be hard pressed to make a city that looks even similar to those pictures. They look good though. Keep em coming...
  7. Floating Airport Full Pack

Not to burst any bubbles...but are these reposts of the ones that were in the Japanese BAT thread several months ago?
  8. The Four Sisters Region

WOW!! [:0] I am truely ecstatic!! My own island!! Woo-hoo!! It was just a small question...I didn't realize my idea would create such change in the region. How much of a population spike did you see when the subway connections opened? Oh, and that is a truely beautiful island. So busy, yet so peaceful and tranquil looking. Great use of the Japanese station...it definitely looks great and truely fits the scenario here. As for getting screen shots of your queries for the transit locals (subway stations, bus stations, etc.)... 1) Go ahead and query the station you want to show a picture for...it may be nice for the picture clarity to zoom in on the station, yet not too terribly far before you query... 2) Once the query is open, move it around on your screen until you can see both the query box and station in close proximity 3) To take the picture, do it the old fashioned MS-Windows way... CNTRL - ALT - PRINT SCREEN buttons held down simultaneously... (this is actually how I take all my pics) 4) Paste as a new image in whatever software program you use... 5) Now, simply crop the image to 800x600 max to show everything you want to show (or whatever size under that you want) and save your image... Simple as 1-2-3. Hope that helps...keep em coming!!
  9. Tarrytowne River Valley

With the growing population, many corporations were taking the opportunity to construct regional offices in the area. Some were even relocating their entire corporate headquarters to the area. The first major corporation to do so was Franklin-Simpson Investing, Inc. They were the also first entity in the area to build a skyscrapper. Picture LC10-1 A peaceful and serene place where Lighthouse Cove could inter their deceased was built around this time. A large cemetary was constructed for the general population. There was also a large chapel in this cemetary for funeral services. A smaller, more private cemetary was constructed which would be used for Lighthouse Cove's mayors and more influential citizens. The entire site was located beside a Mormon Church on the outskirts of town. Picture LC10-2 Mayor Emily was troubled. She did not sleep well at night. She loved the recognition that she received from her memorial park, but she couldn't help thinking about all of those who lost their lives to the sea. She had read the letter from the Mariner's Association a hundred times. Finally after three weeks of little sleep she decided that someone could honor her in years to come, maybe even after she was interred in the town cemetary. She proceeded to have the current monument torn down and a new monument constructed that would honor those lost at sea. Surrounding the monument, engraved in the bricks of the plaza would be each of the names of those who were lost, what their job was and the dates that they were born and died. Picture LC10-3 As another form of recreation, Mayor Emily decided to utilize the already existing water features of the area to create a large park. There were several lakes on the side of the mountain that were connected by a series of waterfalls. The were call the Gurrgkud Lakes. The last lake then emptied into the sea through a small tributary. The lakes were fed by both mountain run-off and also by a series of underground streams that criss-crossed the mountain. To construct many of the town's facilities, the town had already built a series of underwater channels to direct the flow of water underneath several of the buildings. This was done to increase the amount of available acreage for various construction projects. The first picture shows the terraforming I did to create the lakes. The second is of the finished lakes. Picture LC10-4 Picture LC10-5 Towards the bottom right corner of the picture, you can see where the tunnels begin to direct the flow of water to the sea. A small park was constructed to the rear of the courthouse. This park took advantage of the fact that not all of the tributary had been burried. Part of it was left exposed so that people could take advantage of it's beauty. This park was named Riverside Park. Picture LC10-6 *************************** Personal Messages: gurrgkud - Thanks for stopping by as usual. As you can see, you too have been immortalized within my CJ. Hope you like... dhoppeii - Even when you don't have the time to stop in, you still manage to do so. Thanks for the compliments about my farms, even if they are all still Stage 1 farms (except the Turkey lots which are only Stage 2.) I just can't wait to get some more cities connected together to see if all my farms suddently progress to Stage 2 or 3. aleking - Thanks again for the compliments. I really enjoy trying to put together the park areas, and also adding on realistic looking parking to some of the bigger commercial and industrial lots. I have contemplated doing some parking with some of the bigger residential lots when I get them...but haven't decided. I'm glad that I can provide some inspiration to a fellow CJ'er who has a great CJ himself! Your immortalization in the CJ is forthcoming...soon. To all - We are now up to one update left for Lighthouse Cove. That update will be a short one, and then I will post the entire region and some Census stats as an additional update. The last update and the regional update should be coming within the next day or two, so stay tuned and check back often. Thanks for the wonderful comments thus far. I love them. Keep em coming...
  10. The Four Sisters Region

AK, Another cool update. I like how the city is developing around the volcanoe. Just an observation though...how deep into the side of the volcanoe do you plan to terraform? I would imagine once you reach so far in that you would hit unstable bedrock, internal magma chambers, etc. But, this is a way for most of us to escape the reality that real life does indeed suck sometimes! I would like to know what the population is at this point. I bet the major roadways are pretty clogged with traffic. Ever consider a subway connection between your island? Great job. Keep em coming...
  11. Anduin Valley Revisited

Darmok, First, your request. I don't have the exact location of the file. I know it is in the Japanese BAT thread, but I spent an hour looking through all the 40+ pages and didn't see the picture for it anymore. But, I do have good news...I found the .ZIP file on my computer and can email it to you. It is to big to be attached it to this thread (811 Kb), so just PM me with your email address and I'll email it to you!! Christmas in May!! As for you pictures, the tech pictures look awesome. What part of the city is gonna be the actual port? I thought about laying out my major transportation networks before but I've never done it. I think for my next major city in the region, I will be doing it that way. Lots of inspiration and all that... Another fine update my friend! Keep em coming...
  12. Tarrytowne River Valley

After several months of construction, the first leg of the Tarrytowne River Valley highway system was complete. This would be dubbed Highway 261 and would run North / South beginning just outside of Lighthouse Cove. After several miles, it would terminate at Highway 262. H-262 was the next section of the planned highway system that would be constructed and would run East / West across much of the valley. A major North / South artery would also connect to H-262 and run in to Tarrytowne. The rail lines, which were already in place, served as the guide lines for the highway system. The lines followed H-261, and then ran East / West around Lighthouse Cove to the rail yards. There are two large Park-N-Rides on either side of the road. These Park-N-Rides also have bus service, which would eventually connect all of the major cities and towns in the region. Picture LC9-1 During many of the Board of Regants meetings, several housing associations repeatedly called for more recreational facilities. To appease these people, Mayor Emily had a large memorial park constructed including a large statue of herself. Although she was well liked and respected as a mayor, this move angered many of the local mariners. They felt that nobody in Lighthouse Cove had paid their respects to the many fisherman and dock workers that had so bravely given their lives to make everyone else's more fruitful. Will their heartfelt letters reach the heart of the mayor and cause her to reconstruct the park? Picture LC9-2 (Mayor Memorial version) With the population exploding, so was the need for quality health care. A hospital was built, with Adam S. Edison as it's major financial benefactor. Because of his generous contributions (which were seen by many as a way to launder money from certain unknown activities) the hospital was named after his mother. It was forever known as the Susan B. Edison Memorial Hospital. Picture LC9-3 The seafood in Lighthouse Cove was plentiful. There appeared to be no chance of over fishing the waters, or overharvesting the crabs, oysters, shrimp and many other forms of sea life. The people of Lighthouse Cove were growing tired of their diet which consisted mainly of seafood though. The people wanted fresh fruits and vegetables, and farming was the best means of obtaining them. Several individuals ventured out to the edge of town to start a few farms. The available land quickly ran out, so they began terraforming the land into terraces going up the eastern face of the great hill. Many people mocked them, calling their venture a mistake. The land here was rich however, and the farmers soon reaped many rewards. Notice in the upper right hand corner, you will see the avenue which is the entrance to the highway system as shown above. Picture LC9-4 Right about this time, Mayor Emily felt that it was time she had lived on an appropriate estate for the mayor. Using much of her life's savings (and may tax simoleans as well) she constructed Dew Drop Manor, which would forever become the mayor's place of residence for herself and all future mayors of Lighthouse Cove. The estate was built approximately three-quarters of the way up the south face of the great hill. From this vantage point, she could look out over the ocean as well as the gentle farms. Picture LC9-5 ********************** Well everyone, just two more updates to go and we will be complete with Lighthouse Cove. There are one or two area's which I left open for possible future development, so if I decide to come back I can build a few more things. As always I love and appreciate your comments... Keep em coming...

Date: 5/24/2005 6:37:39 AM Author: ephorex_77 Thanks for the link aldara, I knew it had to be a creation by PEG, jeronij or marrast . I'm off to improve my city now!! quote> No problem. I know, there are so many different creations by those guys that it is truely difficult to keep them all straight. It is almost even more difficult not to miss one of them and get them all downloaded when they first come out!
  14. Project: Nuked York

Another great update. I had started to wonder if you had dropped off the face of the planet. Guess not... I really like the entertainment district and the Santa Monica Blvd...definitely cool. Interesting that the recreation of the east coast gets some west coast influence. Your pics at the end...of the protests. Those are just awesome. Well done. Great eye! And also, thanks for the signature link. I definitely appreciate it! Watch for the Gurrgkud Lakes over in my CJ. I think you'll be happy with the results. Great update...keep em coming...
  15. The Four Sisters Region

This update is pretty cool. So many islands throughout history have been created from long dormant volcanoes. Hopefully, this one IS dormant, or else...well, we all know what the or else is. The region is looking good. One shot I would have liked to have seen was the very southern most part of the island, right in the middle. There are a couple of skyscrapers there that I would like to see. You are doing a great job, especially with the highway running around the island. Any other mass transit running through the mountain? All together, considering the terrain, this update is awesome. Not sure I would want hot molten lava licking at my heels as I flee the island, but it looks cool none the less!! Keep em coming... ****************************** :Edit: Wow...I gotta look at what I am replying to before I reply! I submitted my reply, went through the rest of my email and some other CJ's and discovered I replied not to the most recent post but the one before that. Shame on me. Guess I need to do another post so that I can catch up! This update is cool too. I like the terraced look, building against the backdrop of the volcano. How high up the sides do you plan to go? I also like the church combined with the baseball field. The first thought that came to mind was some kind of regional church softball league. The style of the city is very nice. And your use of the different wall sets, jeronij's multiple wall sets combined with the Japanese ones looks great. Good mixture of them all...one doesn't overpower the rest. Great job...keep em coming...
  16. Anduin Valley Revisited

Darmok, I actually wasn't referring to the Japanese seawalls. I was referring to the Japanese breakwaters. There are two, one plain and one with a red thing on the end that looks kind of like a light. Here is a pic from the second development of Tarrytowne in my CJ (the pic hasn't been posted yet so you will see it again.) These are the Japanese breakwaters. Look to the far left of the pic and you will see them. Hope this helps... Oh yeah, cool billboard for Cap'n Jacks... Keep em coming...
  17. Tarrytowne River Valley

dhop - Thanks again for the compliments. I certainly try to get things just right. I often find myself spending thousands of simoleons building and demolishing stuff until I get it the way I like it. The next stage of the CJ will be sort of different that what we have seen so far. I just came up with the concept for it a few hours ago and I can't wait to play it out to see how it goes. It should be pretty cool. Until then, keep em coming...
  18. Tarrytowne River Valley

Ok, even though RLS I am here doing an update. What the hey...the wife is already made at me so I might as well get an update in... [:0] So... ********************** At a Board of Directors meeting for Regional Shipping, LLC, discussions were heated. One director pounded his fists on the table and yelled We are supposed to be in control of the shipping enterprises in this area. So why are we now third in line behind a foreign company and one of our competitors who until recently was an unknown. Discussions went long into the night. When the meeting was finally said and done, it was agreed upon by a 7 to 6 vote to borrow money from the government and to sell stock to finance a total renovation of their current port. They would even be building on to the existing port. This would give them the ability to handle as much freight as their competitors. Because their company controlled the rail yards, it was hoped that this would give them the competitive advantage they needed to become number one again. Within a few weeks of completion, their port was running full steam, but would it be enough to keep up with their competition? Picture LC8-1 Many students were beginning to show up in the census rolls. Because of the increased number of school age students, an school was built. Because there weren't enough students to warrant an elementary and high school, all students would be housed in the same school. If you look at the picture, in the bottom there are two entrances to the parking lot. This is actually an entrance for the school (very bottom) and a small fruit stand's parking lot (Scenic Mountain Orchards.) Also notice the loop to the rear of the school for loading and unloading of school busses. Students walk along a sidewalk that runs to the rear of the baseball diamond to the entrance of the school. Picture LC8-2 It was also around this time that a town courthouse was errected. It seems that many out of towners from Anduin Valley and LaPlasaince County were coming to the area to get married. The local churches were unable to keep up with the volume and the courthouse rapidly became a necessity for wedding seeking couples. Picture LC8-3 During the dedication ceremony for the courthouse, Mayor Emily pulled Mayor Artimus aside to speak with him. It seems that Regional Shipping, LLC. was pressuring the mayor to build some sort of transit network that would connect Lighthouse Cove with many of the regions larger cities such as Tarrytowne. With Artimus' help, financing was obtained through an annonymous benefactor, and the great TRV Highway Project was begun. In the pictures, you can see the terraforming. To keep nature and man seperated, a large wooden wall was constructed on either side of the project. This was an effort to satisfy the complaints of environmentalists who felt the project would endanger the local environment. Picture LC8-4 Picture LC8-5 Phew...guess that's enough for now. After this update, there are 3 more updates coming. Following the final update for Lighthouse Cove, I will provide an overall update showing regional pictures of the entire Tarrytowne River Valley (with some areas blanked out of course ). I will also provide Census Statistics at that time as well. Comments everyone...Keep em coming...
  19. Anduin Valley Revisited

Ahhh...picture 8. It too looks good. I still say your subway entrace is so realistic it is probably one of the best one's I've seen created on here. As for RLS today...yeah, I know that feeling!! Keep em coming...
  20. Tarrytowne River Valley

Darmok - Well, I located the problem. Thanks for pointing it out in the first place Eagle Eye. I had the same hope as you, to save alot of work for myself. Well, as it turns out...I had placed an eye candy rail lot at the point you saw the break in the rail line. I was just for realism, but it broke the line. I reconnected it and all is good now. Thanks again. sc4player - Thanks for the compliment. I try to make things interesting yet realistic. And in case I haven't said so before, welcome to the Tarrytowne River Valley. Come back soon. sloppet - As always, thanks for dropping by. I don't mind the double post...just gets my CJ back up on the list! I would love for this to become one of the really great ones in the future. I have alot of work to do to catch up with some of the people on here like Darmok, MrCinatit, Dhoppeii, Jeronij and many many others. Thanks for the vote of confidence though...I do certainly appreciate it! Anyone else who I may have forgotten, not much time today. If I forgot you I do appologize. As always, thanks for the contributions and compliments as I too thrive on them. RLS today, so I'm not sure if I will get in an update or not. We'll see what I can do though. Thanks for stopping by... come again some time. Keep em coming...
  21. The Four Sisters Region

Looks great AK. Can't wait for the official update with this island. And ya know, I just love the new lighthouse from PEG. It definitely adds alot to the game! Keep em coming...
  22. Goldenrod Plains

Date: 5/23/2005 5:28:15 AM Author: ephorex_77 Oh, sorry KOSC, should've made myself clearer . I alread have PEG's woods and other creations. I mean the lots with the tiny (pine) trees that surround the manor in the first picture you posted above. The lots that you used as a border around the manor that can be either straight lots or diagonal lots. Hope the description helps this time TIA quote> KOSC, I can answer this one for ya... ephorex_77, they are the Diagonal Park Fences V1 by none other than Jeronij. You can get them here https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?mode=files&filetype=all&category=default&sortby=DatePosted&show=12&Str=park%20fence . He does such awesome work, wouldn't ya say!!
  23. Goldenrod Plains

KOSC...another fine update. Haven't had much time to be one this weekend, but I just had to stop in here. 31.01 - Darmok Manor looks great. 31.02 - I definitely love how you incorporated all the paths with the ones in the estate. Flows right on from the street, through the gate, across the lawn, to the back of the estate. Looks cool. 31.03 - 31.05 - Your terraforming skills are awesome. And I gotta say that I really like the way the CD Terrain Mod makes the rock faces look. You are using CD's Mod, right? 31.06 & 31.07 - The dam looks cool. This is one of the few CJ's where I've seen a dam and actually liked how it looked. 31.08 & 31.09 - I have the urge now to go white water rafting!! 31.10 - Another good shot of the dam. 31.11 - Nice terraforming skills. 31.12 - Dhoppeii's place looks cool. His estate looks alot more like a big park! 31.13 - Cool! Yet another place for me to get totally friggin drunk!! Whoo Hoo!! 31.14 - The park beside the church is a cool idea. Gives the kids something to do after church while the grown-ups are busy flappin their gums with each other. I always hated that as a kid...I wanted to get home to eat and my parents wanted to talk with people for 30 or so minutes. Geesh, feed the hungry kid already!! 31.15 - The finished overview looks great. I can see where the mayor estate will be. I also like how you combined the use of PEG's stream AND pond waterfalls throughout the area...looks great. This CJ is so cool...I can't wait for more...Keep em coming...
  24. Anduin Valley Revisited

As always, great update Darmok. NCA looks great. Lets see now...where to start with the comments...hmm...maybe the beginning? Ok...guess I'll start at the beginning and use the style everybody is using over in Dhoppeii's CJ. 6_01 - That area is just too cool. I love the breakwater idea. By chance, have you considered or even seen the Japanese breakwater's in the Japanese BAT thread? They would look awesome there too. 6_02 - I love how Captain Jacks party deck goes into the water. I bet that did take a ton of time to terraform and my hat is off to you for it!! We have several bars/clubs in our area along the river or one of the local creeks that have party decks out into the water. Makes for a cool night of drinking! I am still trying to figure out what restaurant or bar is there by the cauldesac beside Captain Jack's though. Can't see the name clearly. 6_03 - Nice use of the Omni building. Cool how the trail wraps around and back onto itself around the hotel. 6_04 - The area looks great. The forest trails really look good here. 6_05 - I had totally forgotten about the fishing village. It looks good. Another Japanese BAT in the thread is an actual fishing village. It has houses on jetty's, docks, etc. It looks really cool, I just haven't had a chance to use it yet...but it is coming. 6_06 & 6_07 - NCA truely looks great. Nice pictures of town. 6_08 - No 6_08...you skipped a number. Had me confused at first when I was writing this. 6_09 - Tio Pepe's...very nice addition. Wish I had the money to buy that place from the current owner... I'd be rich!! 6_10 - Nice placement of the resort hotel...definitely a nice view from the ocean front rooms. 6_11 & 6_12 - I definitely like that break water. These pics give us a nice alternate view of that section. I'm definitely going to have to drop in there to enjoy some fish and chips and a few pints while I enjoy the view on the party deck. 6_12a - Guess 12a is how you made up for the missing number!! The equestrian supply works well here. 6_13 - Definitely a nice parting shot. I really like NCA...very peaceful looking. Oh yeah, very nice area...and thanks for the statistics of the area. I have a graphic very similar already made up for my CJ which I was gonna use immediately after the last update for Lighthouse Cove. Now I have to make up a new graphic...dangit. Great job...just gotta love this CJ. Keep em coming...
  25. Tarrytowne River Valley

Pictures LC7-2 and LC7-3 from Lighthouse Cove Update 7 have been updated. The new shots show the areas in question with much better details. Personal Messages: Shadow_Assassin - Thanks for the help with the roundhouse questions. Really appreciate it. Stop by some more... godwin1020 - Thanks again for following along. I appreciate the comments. Who knows...maybe soon we'll see godwin estates or something like that. dhoppeii - So, did you enjoy your history lesson today? I hope we answered your questions. Take a look at the new pics detailed above. Those will give you a better idea, especially LC7-3. You region shot is coming up... To All - At the request of dhoppeii, here is a region shot. The trees haven't been filled in yet, and a few other modifications and additions need to be made before we are done with Lighthouse Cove. I wanted this city to be a small size town, but it is rapidly growing. I guess this happens any time you have a large shipping center, the city around it grows at a tremendous rate. The city has definitely outgrown what I had planned. This is a region shot of just Lighthouse Cove. I would give an overall region shot, but there are a few surprises in store that I would give away by doing this. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//LCove--Region_View_5-22-05.jpg align=baseline> I'm almost done with the development in this town. I have plenty of pictures on my PC, so I do have several more updates planned before moving on. As you can see, I'm using the new starfield mod...I think it looks pretty good. Here's a parting shot for today. Just a lazy picture I took that, as dhoppeii says, makes the game really come to life. It is a shot of one of the freighters leaving Lighthouse Cove. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//LCove--44--Passing_Ship.jpg align=baseline> That's all for today...I think. Comments, as always...keep em coming...
