I meant as opposed to the German-style train station that comes with the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, which is bigger and looking like it's from Germany.
-
The default train station looks a lot like the Amtrak one in Emeryville, just a block away from our office.
-
Ha ha, I had a feeling you'd be asking that. I'll try to capture a viaduct with networks crossing it, how about that?
-
I'm hoping to be able to post a picture or two this coming week as well, based on how much time I have to play the game. Any request for what you'd like to see?

Those are really dirt roads, and the picture only shows a small portion of the city. I added a picture from later in the play session here: https://twitter.com/MaxisGuillaume/status/279032121589379073/photo/1

They vary from one region to another. -
Those diagrams are great, I should order a couple of their posters for the office.

SimCity: Transit and Roading Networks

Can we drag a higher-capacity road over an existing one to upgrade it? What if the newer road is wider than the previous? What will happen to adjacent properties? Only within the road-width class. So you can upgrade a low-density road to a medium density one, and a medium-density avenue to a high-density avenue, but not a medium-density road to a medium-density avenue (since they are different width.) -

Streetcars can also run on their own dedicated tracks as well. -
SimCity: Transit and Roading Networks
MaxisGuillaume replied to alvinheriadi's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I understand that there are two different road widths, but multiple capacities of each. The first road width is dirt road, 2 lane road, 4 lane road, 4 lane road with traffic lights, and the second road width is boulevard, avenue and avenue with tram. Those are the internal names though, in game it's something like: Low-density road, medium-density road, high-density road, and medium-density avenue, high-density avenue and finally high-density avenue with streetcar tracks. Oh, and dirt roads. -
SimCity: Transit and Roading Networks
MaxisGuillaume replied to alvinheriadi's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
That's because the (narrow) 4-lane road with lights supports high density buildings. -

Functionally it's somewhere between the (narrow) 4-lane road with stops and (narrow) 4-lane road with lights: it has 4 lanes, traffic lights, but can only support up to medium density buildings. -

landmarks wanted in SC2013
MaxisGuillaume replied to Mr Saturn64's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Yeah all landmarks are functional objects. Some are regular workplaces, while others are mostly tourist attractions. We'll be talking about them soon. -

Yes there are bridges, and the players will get to place them. -
I did a recording session in Simlish a while back (for the DDE's French police station) -- it's a pretty funny language.

You can build light and heavy rail lines in your city. That's cool. I can't find any info on this anywhere : is it possible to lay rail lines both light and heavy on the region level, or just within the 2x2 map? Thank you. Just within your city Grugor's right -- although heavy rail lines go from city to city in the region, those are Maxis-placed. Laying your own rail and roads is only done within the boundaries of your city. -
Yes, this is a speculative reality/model reality game!

That depends on the wealth of the building. W2 goes in multiples of 4, W3 in multiples of 2. -

You can build light and heavy rail lines in your city. Good .... This is already possible today with more reality! What will not be possible without subway and establish a new mass transit option without having to demolish huge paths of the game that was clearly the original intent! You can upgrade your avenues to avenues with light rail track though. We're looking into keeping the 3 lanes of car traffic on each side in that case.
