Cool, thanks for the comments.

Thanks. I'm working on a new update but I will be gone this weekend so it won't be till Monday or Tuesday.

@crazyyaya: Thanks for the input. The downtown area is kind of boring (but getting better) right now because the city is still fairly small (100k). I hate cities that have no spread and a massive downtown, using every custom building. I do need to go through though and find more custom midrise buildings. Don't worry, nice large custom buildings will come when the city gets bigger. As for the port, that was bugging me too, I was looking for the whitish color rock borders for edges but couldn't find em (any help?).

Thanks, everyone, for the comments. A new update is in the works.

Cool city. The photoshopping adds a nice touch.

Dartford's downtown district continues to thrive. The navy has chosen Dartford as a prime spot for a regional port because of its central location. This has caused a spread of new housing developments in northern Fairview. Many new industrial parks have taken an attraction to Dartford's currently cheap land. -Fairview Industries- (I need to fix the commercial, just noticed while uploading that 3 of the same building are next to each other. And finally, a region view. It looks a bit sloppy right now because of the cut off cities. Those will be filled in by the next update.

@masochist: Thanks for that suggestion; I had been looking for those but hadn't found them. @Meow Yer ded: Just don't zone giant areas. Keep them 1x1 or 1x2, something like that. Everyone else, thanks for the comments and suggestions. I will hopefully get a new update posted tomorrow. Cool. bob

Good port. Those take lots of time... The suburbs in the hills are nice too.

I have a fruity idea! There are lots of A-Z games going around so why not start one with food! All forum game rules (especially the two post rule bobinator) aply and it has to be a real food (with the exception of x and z if you can't think of anything). You can also name food groups (meat, wheat...) Heres an example: 1)artichokes 2)bananas 3)chicken Have fun! Edit: I thought about it and I can't think of a single food that starts with x or z so when we get to those letters I guess you can just make up a really weird food for those letters. I'll start, apples

Sun Valley, Alaska This is my new city journal, Sun Valley Alaska. This is not my own map. It's flamesrock's Eriaktra Lake Basin. This town was created during the goldrush and is now only there because of the freeway that runs through the heart of downtown and what little gold is left. Lets get to it shall we? Also, this is all made up, Sun Valley is really a ski resort in Idaho. Here is a transportation map of the area, current population: 5000 sims Interstate 88 runs right through the heart of downtown and the I-88 loop branches off. A close up of I-88. In the top right had corner is the I-88 loop The current downtown- not very imressive right now huh. The local park. IHOP One of the local's favorite places to eat! And finally, a zoomed out picture of the region! (excuse the seawalls- they look horrible from this height.) That's all for now. Big things are instore for the sims in the next update. For good or bad, you'll have to find out! Comments are always welcme.

Darmok: Glad you can finally see the pics!!! Fairlane500: Thanks for the comment! lol ephorex_77: Glad you figured it out. And no this thread will not die, I been extreally busy with school, skiing and other stuff (RLS hint hint). I plan to continue updating once school is out. I'll have much more time then. Cjah: Thanks for the comment. I'll have more updates in about 2 weeks. DragonAnime: Wow! It's an honor to be on a list with other city journals like that. I've been inactive lately and my, your post count has grown! sloppet: I hope it won't be your last post here either lol. I just haven't updated because I've been pretty busy with other stuff. jacqulina: I'll have an update posted the day school lets out. topcliff: Thanks for reminding me. I'll probably have it in the next update. humbrol: Thanks. all: Sorry for not updating for so long (like 3 weeks now, my god). I plan to continue updating once summer is here. I still have loads of school work right now, I just got back from a 5 day ski race, RLS... The new update will be the day school lets out (about 2 more weeks). Once into summer, updates will be much more frequent, probably one every other day or so.

MissTonya: Thanks for your nice comment! jacqulina: Thanks!! ephorex_77: Thanks for your input!!! Look at fargnax's post, that was what I was aiming for. fargnax: Thanks for answering that question!! I put the rail line there because I thought it was the most realistic place for it. I should have shown some more pics of where it came from. If I had put it next to the river, the line would have to make two 90 degree turns in about eight tiles so I doubt that would have happend in real life. Thanks again for the comment!!! Cjah: Thanks for the comment!! Nice new avatar too!!

Shadow_Assassin: Hmm, that's weird, I'm almost positive that they're on high. As to the streets, you're right for the most part. I was trying to imitate neighborhoods in my area that have people packed in like now tommorrow. Thanks for commenting! Cjah: Thanks for your nice comment!!! dhoppeii: Thanks for the comment!! lol, I hate it when I do that. I used jeronij's walls in the picture ur talking about. Darmok: Thanks! Yes, I would feel really trapped living their too. Realisticlly though, not every neighborhood has nice windy roads sad to say. Thanks for the simpothy too lol. crazyarchitect: Thanks for the comment!! jimbob10: Thanks!
