  1. Sculpting Columbia River

First of all, YAY, I'm a Local Yokel now... Secondly, YAY, page four.... and most importantly... How!? How is it possible to make such a perfect CJ!? I envy you. I wish I could spend as much time as you on my transportation/terraforming combinations! I'm speechless...
  2. City Journal: Duthford

Ok, time for a quick update (it took awhile to make these, but the update is short)... Here is the region shot of Duthford as it stands. Hope you enjoyed it. Any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions are, as always, greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  3. City Journal: Duthford

    Thanks for the comment!
  4. City Journal: Duthford

Great! Someone else commented! Thanks Cjah for the compliments/comments. So, time for an update? Sure why not. First, let's see the new desert development to the west of Tiki. The densely populated, low wealth (but educated and in high health) citizens of Mexica. Next, we have the coastal farming community of North Jockey. Similar to Seashore, it will likely turn in to a tourist place, but it did start with many more farms. And it is located along the south coast well to the east of Seashore. Finally, all this new growth stimulated more growth of the booming cities of Tiki and Seaside. Seaside Downtown New Northern Tiki Growth Downtown Tiki With New Ritzy Condos A region view is yet to come. So, how do you all like my update? Too boring? Just right? Does it need something? As always, questions, comments, concerns, and suggestions are greatly appricated. Thanks.
  5. City Journal: Duthford

Thanks for the comment!!! Just to let anybody know what the next update will be... Expect a new coastal farming village, and a densely populated low-wealth desert city, both on opposite sides of what is currently the inhabited portion of Duthford. Expect that either tonight or tomorrow .
  6. City Journal: Duthford

So, another update is in store. Seaside's downtown has been renovated. It may not look much different, but most of the residential development in downtown has been converted to commerce to help give the people of Seaside more job options. Unfortunately, Tiki is not faring well in the job department. Too many residences and not enough work. But, nonetheless, Tiki has also gone through some big renovations, as seen below. Now, there hasn't been a region view in awhile, but the region is really getting big, so I'll try doing region images this way now... As always... questions, comments, concerns, and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
  7. Camco Parking Lot Value Package

I like the lot, it will work great in my city as a "park and ride" type thing near a bus stop... instead of using a parking garage which just looks strange in a medium sized town.
  8. City Journal: Duthford

I'm glad to hear that someone likes the CJ. Thanks for your comments, uncrazycooper. Any other questions, etc from anybody?
  9. City Journal: Duthford

So, time for an update, and a brand new chapter in the life of a major Duthfordian city. Portland, remember that city? ... As you can see, it was made up of mostly poor sims and dirty industry. Well, that all changed. Why you ask? Natural disasters can be powerful things. See for yourself. Yes, that's right, Portland was devastated by a tornado... see for yourself the end result below. However, natural disasters have their own way of bringing about good. The people of Portland decided to rebuild the city, but make it better for future generations. See the new Portland below. So, how do you like the update? As always, questions, comments, concerns, and suggestions are greatly appreciated, and thanks to all who have commented so far.
  10. What if

Then I guess the jury would have been correct! What if every CJ that has been created thus far truly existed on other planets?
  11. City Journal: Duthford

Thank you both for your replies. Like I said, questions, comments, concerns, and suggestions are always greatly appreciated.
  12. City Journal: Duthford

Thanks for the reply, and I'll keep your suggestion in mind.
  13. City Journal: Duthford

First of all, thanks for the reply, London Wyverns. So, it's time for another update. A new city was founded and its name is Midway. See it below. Where on Duthford is Midway, you ask? Well, see for yourself below (the highways have been given numbers to more easily distinguish which highway one is on). And for those of you who want to know the populations of the cities and region so far, here is a nice little list that should satisfy you for now. Region Population: 61343 Seaside: 18960 Seashore: 1600 Tiki: 24279 Portland: 3752 Catalina Island: 2745 Dodohead: 612 Panthy: 3957 Leaf Hill: 2524 Midway: 2914 Any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions are, as always, greatly appreciated.
  14. City Journal: Duthford

Thanks for the comment! I'm just not quite sure what you mean by streets. Do you meant the roads/streets/avenues or the highways? Regardless, I thought I was making them conform to the terrain of my regions. Where specifically is that not the case? Thanks again for the reply!
  15. The awakening of Lentbury

I like how you have all those districts separately! Also, how you have so much open spaces in your cities for parks, or just trees. I also noticed you used a Portland BAT building (that big pink diamond-shaped one)!
  16. City Journal: Duthford

So, it's about time for another update. Tiki has grown westward and upward since the last update, so without further ado, here it is... And, I have a region map for everyone... Any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
  17. City Journal: Duthford

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! I wish I had known about ImageShack earlier! It is soooo great! So, I will definately be using that from now on. I have re-uploaded all my images to ImageShack, so now my pics are back up. Any questions, comments, concerns, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, but this CJ will go on without them (just because recreating Duthford is a major goal of mine on SC4).
  18. Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!

lol Gat, so that exists in real life? Cool stuff.
  19. City Journal: Duthford

Thanks for your responses. First of all, the image hosting place I'm using was free, but I wanted to host more images on it so I upgraded to a bigger account. I didn't realize they had a daily bandwidth limit. How much space does imageshack allow you to have? Quack and Pixter, thanks for the compliments . I make it as I go, in a way. I already know WHERE all my cities are going, but I create the cities themselves on a whim. I don't know exactly what you mean by the snow thingy, Quack and kagevrtugol, but on Dec25 real life there is an egg in the game that shows snow. If your computer date is set to Dec25, you can just open a city, and even moderately high elevated areas may get a layer of snow. Thanks again for the comments.
  20. City Journal: Duthford

Update: I edited this post 12/26 because it was about my previous image hosting site. I now use (as you can see in my signature) ImageShack, which a couple people recommended to me. It is free, and doesn't have a bandwidth limit. However, the other portion of this post asked people to comment on my CJ. I still greatly appreciate any questions, comments, or concerns. Thanks.
  21. Sculpting Columbia River

Nice CJ! I like the transportation network (everybody seems to be liking it), but I also like the fact that you are using the Columbia River... only because I live in Portland .
  22. City Journal: Duthford

Another update today. First, the newest addition to the Duthfordian region: Leaf Hill. See it below. Next, we have the region map of Duthford, presented in a newish type way for now. Hope you like it.
  23. Merry Xmas!

Well, since nobody else seems to be posting here... MERRY CHRISTMAS! Also, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year, and everything else that comes with this time of year.
  24. City Journal: Duthford

So, as I said, here's Tiki in the snow... And here's a close up of a residential area with a little snow coverage.
  25. City Journal: Duthford

Happy holidays! As a Christmas Egg given to us by the people of Maxis, we get some LOW snow levels. I had to take a picture of Seaside when they were at their lowest... Also, the snow BARELY got down to the level of development, so here's a street that's covered with snow before it all melted away... I may add Tiki too!
