  1. Making Accurate-Scale Real-World Maps

Hi everyone. I don't visit Simtropolis often anymore, but I feel sort of guilty leaving this incomplete! I don't even have the mapping programs on my computer anymore, and I'll have to relearn a little on how to do this (though this tutorial will ironically help in that aspect ), but I'll try to complete this tutorial over the coming weeks!
  2. Mapp Squad San Francisco Bay Area

That's because, as it says in the description, you need a plugin.
  3. Mapp Squad Oslo

You need to use the 1000m.dat, but also MAKE SURE that no other height mods (or terrain mods) are in your plugins folder.
  4. A Strong Case of RLS

Hi, everyone. If you've noticed I've been gone for a while, it's because I have. I have had what seems to be a permanent case of RLS recently, with school and work and everything. If you've tried to contact me recently, I'm sorry for not getting back to you. I will probably check in at least a couple times a month, but I'm just not around much anymore. Just letting everyone know. Mallow
  5. North Oregon Coast

Thanks, guys. These comments really make my day. :D
  6. London England

    Thanks, everyone. :D
  7. NHP Seattle by MallowTheCloud

    Thanks, everyone! :D
  8. Phoenix

Not sure what you mean. The map loads fine for me.
  9. MallowTheClouds Maps

You could add to the config.bmp a layer of green pixels two-pixels thick on both the left and right side if the problem is along a north-south running border. Or, if the problem is along an east-west running border, you could add to the config.bmp a layer of green pixels two-pixels thick on both the top and bottom side. That would add medium cities to the edges of the map, but would shift the rest of the tiles by a half of a large tile (the width of a medium tile). The problem then would be that you'd need to re-render the map.

  11. Phoenix

Hello raf. Have a look at this thread: https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=120&threadid=72067&enterthread=y If that doesn't help, you can send me a PM and I'll try to help you out. :D
  12. Tallest

Due to strict height restrictions in downtown Portland (to allow the rich folks living in the West Hills a view of the Cascades and Mount Hood without buildings in the way), the city cannot build any buildings taller than the current tallest building, the Wells Fargo Center: From Wikipedia ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wells_Fargo_Center_(Portland,_Oregon) ...: "It stands at 546 feet (166.4m) with 41 floors of office space. Upon opening in 1972, the Wells Fargo Center dwarfed all other existing high-rise developments in downtown Portland. Public outcry over the tower's scale and the potential of new development to block views of Mount Hood led to height restrictions on all new development."
  13. A new mapping forum....

Well, I'm not a moderator in that forum, so you will have to PM Andreas Roth to get that one moved.
  14. A new mapping forum....

Thanks to the administration! I have moved a couple NHP topics over here... if there are any more anyone would like moved, please let me know.
  15. Map Squad Saint Petersburg

    Thanks for the comments, everyone!
  16. Berlin Germany

It's much larger than the one provided by Maxis. It's to scale, and north on this map is north in real life. If museum island is small, it would probably be best to use canals for it. Good luck! :D
  17. LBMaM Gotham City 2006

It's not my New York map, but it does look a lot like the one by dzi, without the elevation. I think it's just a flat map with a New York water template on it.
  18. NHP Chicago By MallowTheCloud

If that's the river to the south of Gary, IN... sorry about that. I saw it, but I had already spent WAY too much time perfecting the rest of the map, and I didn't want to have to do it all over again. Again, I apologize.
  19. NHP - New Horizons Productions Map Thread

Thanks dadyrghluv and everyone for your support! Just wanted to let you all know that I have a Seattle map almost ready to upload... just a few minor tweaks necessary. When I get time, I will finish it and upload it. I hope you all will like it.
  20. The Portland & Oregon BAT Team, Chapter 1

Wow, rich... and to think THAT will be going down to Clackamas Town Center in a few years. Awesome! EDIT: Just noticed that was not even close to the most recent page... this was in response to the MAX pictures from 5 or 6 pages back. I am ever in awe of your creations, Sparky.
  21. Portland, Oregon

Sparky, I travel the Milwaukie Expressway all the time! I would love to see it remade in SC4.
  22. NHP - New Horizons Productions Map Thread

That is purely and wonderfully amazing, beskhu3epnm! No question about it.
  23. Portland, Oregon

Amazing job! I can't wait for Milwaukie and Clackamas, the area I'm from
  24. Cincinnati

Great! And thanks for the comments. :D
  25. Happy Birthday!

Thanks! I'm here, mostly just in the map forum. I'm really busy with school and work
