Date: 7/30/2005 12:55:12 AM Author: confused04 You planning on interning in Norman, OK sometime? My father went there for a while, and thats when they had the massive F5 tornado (I think its F5) slam through the suburbs of Oklahoma City. One of the best spots to intern or be for that matter. If not, you can always come to the East coast. I can't really imagine Washington states weather being super exciting. Then again, I could be wrong.quote> LOL... well, I am planning on interning SOMEWHERE eventually. And you're right, 'exciting' isn't really the word I'd describe for Washington weather.... though it can be quite interesting at times. Here in Portland, we have the Gorge to make things interesting. In Seattle, they have the Strait of Juan De Fuca and the Olympic Mountains... which can cause some interesting 'convergence zones'... especially during winter. My sister lives in Tulsa... so I do have family in Oklahoma... plus, one of the major universities in Oklahoma is one of the best ones for meteorology nationwide.

Date: 7/30/2005 12:04:58 AM Author: jtportland thanks for the welcome back mallow. that's right, i remember we chatted a few a while back when i was making portland buildings and portland in the game. i do not currently live in portland metro. i moved here to seattle last year for school, and also because my boyfriend got a job transfer up here for a better job offer.quote> No problemo. Ironically enough, I'm headed to the University of Washington this fall to study meteorology.

Date: 7/29/2005 9:56:44 PM Author: jtportland Congrats zelgadis! Now if only the US was more like Canada… It was really cool reading this thread, and to see how (for the most part) the simtropolis community has been very open and accepting. I haven’t been a very active member for a while now, but I do sill browse simtrop sometimes to see what’s new. And since I saw so many other well known ST members come out of the st closet, I thought, why not post my outing too? Even though I officially came out 7 years ago, I have never made an attempt to hide it. Because I have always been proud of who I am, as we all should. I wonder if I’m the first better to come out of the simtrop closet? I can’t be the only one! lol quote> Whoa, I haven't seen you comment here in a long time! Welcome back to SimTropolis, jt! Another fellow Portlander in here... though... if I remember correctly, you don't currently live in Portland?

Date: 7/29/2005 5:17:06 PM Author: freedo50 The map that jeronij used is the Columbia River Gorge Map by Skippy Dam 73 Great stuff as ever Jeronij, you broke my keyboard again!~(too much drool)quote> And here 's a more accurate map of the Columbia River Gorge that I just made. I saw this thread, and I just got the urge to make it. EDIT: Just wanted to point out that after looking at your industrial area again, Jeroni, I am even more amazed than I was when I first looked at it! You do such amazing work, but then, you already knew that.

Date: 7/29/2005 12:39:46 AM Author: Justin82 ...Would it be a bad suggestion to maybe lengthen the game time, or allow 50 years to pass in two turns? It may give people more incentive, and a more lenient deadline?...quote> I just wanted to point out here that you are perfectly welcome to take 50 years over two turns, which would come to the same conclusion that you are professing here. Then, the faster people can turn their 50 years in after every turn, and the slower ones every two turns. -

UCS2 - Neptune Bay - Members Thread

I'd be happy to continue this... but I don't want to be a burden. So, if it's bothersome, and I'm the only one who wants to continue, by all means let it die. On the other hand, if people want to continue with UCS2, I'd be more than happy to continue as well. P.S. ... It may just be the low demand regionwide... that nobody wants to build if there is negative high wealth commercial office demand and negative medium wealth residential demand. -
