try searching your computer for the files, maybe they got moved, or maybe they where the infected files, or your anti-virus thought they where infected, i would check in the quarintine area, or see what files where deleted, also try doing a system restore (if you have xp or me) to backup the files.

thats stupid, did they say why, next time find a cheaper place to do it and tell them you have to have it backed up, and why, also you can use datgen and use my Technique for discovering the plugins, here is my Technique: download and install datgen, open each city file , in the my documents/simcity 4/regions folder then open the exemplar folder, and then open the exemplar folder, each exemplar files has the information on the plugins, i used that to get info on one of my cities, and it worked enough to open and play a little, but crashed due to lack of memory when i turn the simulation on, so don't save untill you are sure, and be sure to get all the plugin files.

there is a fix, so far not many people have payed attention to it download and install datgen, open the city file that is causing the file, in the my documents/simcity 4/regions folder then open the exemplar folder, and then search exemplar files untill you find one that maybe swap, then delete the possible swap ones, save the file, exit datgen, and start the game, be sure to backup the city, this could screw it up, and this will most likely delete the airport packs lots and buildings from the city.

those ideas are more for the future, and the name needs to sound good, by adding extra letters to make it sound good, oh and my brother elite, he does not BAT anymore, he will now do website stuff, and graphics, he might do some rendering also, and here are my responses: 1. i can host the cities off site, maybe on my server at home. 2. i would add dependinces from the stex, if the creator allows it, and the self-installer or readme, might have links to them to be included. 3. i would find out how to make self-installers, and the all in one would make one upload on the stex, that has the self-installer, and manual installation in on zip. 4. i would use rars, because of there better compression, would take up less space on my server for hosting, and would be quicker to upload or download, and could be sent easier by email. 5. i would do Age of Empires II and III bats becuase that is a great game. 6. the Simtropolis Web Browser or enhancer would be an idea for the future. 7. i would find out how to make MAC self-installers.

Maybe a rename would be nice, maybe something like NDEX, where the letters stand for the members names, oh yeah, and here are some ideas i have. 1. Cities: Using SC4 Startup Manager, make downloadable, plugin free cities that people can download. 2. As much dependinces as possible: try to incorporate as much dependinces as possible into the file, reducing the amount of dependencie downloading, also, self installers would automatticly open the window for the dependencies. 3. Manual and Self-installer in one ZIP: manual and self installer are in one zip file, reducing server space with multiple uploads, and mac friendly. 4. rar files, if possible: use rar files to send back and forth between members, rar files have better compression than zip files. . 5. Age of Empires II, and III BATs: this would be nice to have BATs from these game. 6. Simtropolis Web Browser or enhancer: this might not happen, but a browser or enhancer could be used cache common items, buttons, smiles, backgrounds, pictures, pictures of popular stex files, pictures of popular city journals, this would allow the browser/enhancer to load from the hard drive instead of simtropolis, reducing bandwith, and making ST faster for people, maybe reduce timeout errors. 7. MAC self-installers: Self installers in MAC form, so MAC people can use a self-installer. thats all the ideas i could think of for now, what do you think, and if you have any ideas, you can post them.

go up about 5 posts and view my post, which tells how to remove the pack from a city without deleting the city, and using datgen.

for those people with cities that have swap and don't load, there is a temporary fix, open datgen, then select the exemplar folder, and each exemplar file has the individual mods, lots, and bats in it, delete the SWAP ones with possible or known probelms prolems, and then start the game, and load the city, Notice, backup your cities, becuase doing this will probably remove the lots from you city.
