Actually that I used that slogan to follow Dirk's lead and it really fit earlier this year. With the membership getting a little less cantankerous, I changed it to freshen up my signature a little. ...I'll probably put it back on the queue.

^ I think that's the irony. The consequences to most of these can be very serious. It's just that most of them are written obtusely and appear to be written as much to protect the authors from lawsuits as they are to protect the readers from danger.

I get the impression that this works over in the UK and Europe, but here in America, everyone needs to remember something. Different country, different culture, different solution needed. Maybe Europe doesn't, but we, unfortunately, compliments of the whole Prohibition movement, have a nice underground network capable of moving just about anything, and supplying anyone with basically anything they want, so long as they are willing to do a little looking. Finding said underground network isn't hard. I've stumbled across it on more than one occasion. We could completely outlaw all guns, shut down the NRA and every gun company in the country except for ones with military and police contracts. There could be a strong possibility that such laws were already in effect but not enforced. Or perhaps in effect and just not enforceable. Making laws after these kinds of things often make people feel good about themselves and feel like they are in control, but often just paint a nice eyewash over problems that legislation alone can't address. And yes, I am all for education about the seriousness of gun ownership. And I suspect there are already laws about that too.

I'm glad to the British rock groups of the '60's and '70's are still around to allow me to pretend to be younger again.

Unless people violate other's privacy to see the threatening letters or firearms, someone who might have mild schizophrenia or manic-depression might comes across to someone untrained as someone, who is simply neurotic who just broke w/ a girlfriend. And the person who is simply quirky might be as liable to act on their rage as anyone else if they don't have a conscience.

Sounds exciting if everything pans out as you reported. I did read The Hobbit and LOTR when I was a kiddo in the '70's and Peter Jackson's films lived up to my expectations. I'd be all for two films too. I loved anticipating the Return of the King after The Two Towers. BTW, welcome back Hummer! I hope everything is going well in the Army!

Speaking only for myself, if I were remotely perfect or right or better than anyone else or didn't have to improve my own self with such a long ways to go, I wouldn't need God. We also spotted a couple of typos here or there in the ceremony that only Dirk can change. But why overscrutinize and kill the joy of the event? When we were attaching the medals it appeared that at least approximately 35-40 new Trixies were given to first timers and at least 25 were given to members who did not have CML at all. I don't know the totals of all of the Trixies or how many people were awarded this year or the past years, but I really believe that these additions suggest the continued growth and vitality of SimTropois!!! Way to go community!

Whew!!! This is my third Trixie Awards Ceremony as an Administrator and my fourth overall. And it doesn't get old! Congratulations to all of the winners, runners-up, and nominees. And thanks to everyone who voted. Dirk could have made the awards about the elite of the elite of the hardcore SimCity players. But in his vision, as he has always done, he chose to recognise the best of SimTropolis across the board for this particular year. That really makes The Trixies a celebration of the cybercommunity as a whole. And a Community, who as representatives of the fandom, that doesn't have to rely on the rise and fall of any one computer game or gamemaker to be successful and enjoyable. This Community, her Members, her Staff, and the Webmaster really are the best on the Internet! ... and remember, if there are glitches, let SkiGeek know!
