@mightygoose: Thanks for dropping by! Hope you've enjoyed reading this journal @simmax: Thanks for your compliment! @wouanagaine: Thanks again! Hope to see you around! Okay, due to timecontraints I can't post a full-blown update, but just an updated region view. You can click here to view the larger version

Hi all, thanks a lot for all your comments! Before we see how this update unfolds, let me post my replies to the commenters @sloppet: Oh dear, I am really sorry for the misspelt name. A million sorries, sloppet! Oh, and thanks for the compliment... hope to see you again @szarkoz: Thanks for dropping by, szarkoz! Well, the shore lines are actually BSC's shoreline trees. They not only beautify your shorelines, add a tropical touch to your beaches but also act as a super efficient poluution reducer! Thanks for all your comments! Hope to see you guys around Okay, now let's talk more about the city, Glentina, featured in this update. After years of the first Botania suburb being built in Ancestralia, Botania continues to show exponential growth in all 3 sectors - the residential, commercial and industrial sector. Lately construction of massive housing estate like Branfield Apartments and TWreck's Low Wealth Mega Lots brought many new residents to the city, further stabilising the growth of R$$ and R$$$ residentail and all wealth commercial sectors. Glentina is the city along the coast of Botania, facing the open sea. I will post an updated region shot in a few days time, so stay tuned It symbolises the continuity of the burst of development in the recent months. That's all for the mosaics! Hope you've enjoyed viewing them!

Hi Choco! I can see from your recent update that you pay a lot of details to the placement of residential zones... well use of the residential walls and the brick red streets! Oh, and I like the way how you planted the Cottonwoods among the beautiful coloured houses! 5-star job you have over here! And your famrlands looks fantastic, especially when they can blend so well into the lush green landscape the the trees... looks so calm and nice! Keep up the good work!

@Shadow_Assassin: Yup! I fully agree what SA has said. You can use the Jeronij's Rail Addon by BuddyBud anyway you want! From rails to roads and avenues... it all depends how far can your imgination go Thanks for commenting SA! The name Mysoria is actually just a very random name that suddenly flashed through my mind when I was about to name my city. You know, I have run out of names for my cities @magpieshooter: Dear MP, thanks for commenting! Great to see you around Sorry about the degraded image quality of the mosiacs, but they are meant to help those who are operating on low internet speed to view the mosiacs faster... I am now thinking that I should upload a low resolution mosiac then provide a link to the high resolution one. Is this okay with you? I am really sorry for any inconveniences caused. @oroen: Thanks for dropping by! And I am glad that you commented on your first visit... thinking of it, I've been to your CJ many times my I just lurked around... shame on me. Thanks for your compliment, and hope to see you around! @jcabassa: Hi jcab! Thanks for commenting and your compliment. I am sorry for the broken links, so I've fied them just now. Hope that the tutorial is now useful to everyone out there I would like to express my gratitute to those who spent time typing in your comments, and also to those who read the past updates. Nevermind if you don't comment - the most important thing is that I hope you've enjoyed reading this CJ And insert some life in your boring afternoon (perhaps?) The next update is coming up by today / tomorrow... stay tuned

@Fabiocb, thanks for your support! And also thanks for following this CJ so closely : @dedgen: Thanks for dropping by!!! And thanks for your 5 -star ratings I sure appreciate them! Thanks again! Anyway, below is the tutorial of how to do it... anyway, these are from the STEX too, just another way of using the rail lots... Sorry if this tutorial sounds very long-winded, this is because it is also meant to help others... Below are some recommended downloads for this trick to work... (Links updated on 26th March 06) 1. Smoncrie's Hole Digging Lots 2. Jeronij's Concrete Walls 3. BuddyBud's Jeronij Conrete Walls Addon 4. BuddyBud's Jeronij Concrete Walls Addon (Stairs) 5. Buddybud's Underbirdge Rail Intersections 6. BuddyBud's Underbridge Interseciton Props (Dependency for Underbridge Rail Intersections, download #5 stated above) After listing all the lots needed, here are the steps... Hope that this explains everything @chocolatemax285: Thanks a lot Choco for your comment! Thanks for giving me the motivation to make Botania a better and a nicer place Update #16 will be out very soon! Stay tuned! Anyway, I've compressed the mosiacs into file sizes no more than 300kb. This is to facilitate users with slow internet connection Sorry for any inconveniences caused.

Hi Dedgren... thanks a lot for dropping by my CJ! Forgive me because I was also a lurker of this CJ, but not now again. I decided to comment on your awesome work. Well, there are a few things I like the most in your CJ... 1. Your custom terraformed region (I think you did it without the greyscale map right?) 2. The explanation about the missing images (Well, if it was me I won't have the effoty to do so ) 3. The excellent screenshots of the eyecandy 4. The usage of ploppable water and concrete walls and asphalt highway textures. 5. The suburban feeling of your cities I enjoyed reading your CJ, so it is a perfect shame on me for now commenting for so long after reading it. Keep up the good work! P.S. Sorry, but do you mind telling me where you get the stones and underwater plants that you plop along the river? Thanks!

Hi all! Well, a big thanks to Fabiocb for his comment! Thanks a lot for your support and inspirations from your CJ, Sinop The Homeland of Water. Oh, and I've been lurking around your new CJ but sadly I have little time to post a comment... fret no I'll comment this weekend because I have some free time A million thanks to those who have been following this CJ closely. The comment to views ratio is approximately 1:20, which is pretty normal for a CJ on Simtropolis. So I have to thank all those who read and / or commented for giving me the motivation to keep this CJ alive and pumpin'! In this update, I will show you my city, Mysoria. For information about Mysoria will be released this weekend, so we'll just make do with the few mosiacs I've made from the city. It is a city with a very long coastline but a relatively small land mass. Hope you've enjoyed reading this update! And sorry for the large image sizes... I've tried my best to compress them while retaining the best quality possible.

Welcome back! Well, in the last update, the story ends when Kathy's van crashes into the mountain side after she lost control of the car when she drove over a dent in the damaged streets of Silent Creek. It was 3.00am in the morning when the accident happened, knocking Kathy uncounsious. A few days later, Kathy woke up, finding herself lying on a bed in a dirty hospital ward. The room was drenched with sunlight, and she could clearly see the sign on the wall that reads "St Mary Hospital, Silent Creek, Botania". Kathy panicked. First because she heard that the city was vacated a few weeks ago with NOBODY left behind, and so what could have brought her into the burnt hospital? And she can't find James, her son, who was dozing off in the van before the van crashed into the mountain side. Kathy wondered whether she was already dead because of the freak accident. She pinched herself on the face, and she could cearly feel the stining pain left on her cheeks. She is alive! Kathy heard footsteps, and after concentrating real hard on her ears, she found out that the footsteps are heading for her ward's direction. "Who could possibly be here?" Kathy mumbled. The door opened with a squeaking sound. It is a doctor, wearing a surgical mask. Before Kathy could regain her senses and ask him about James whereabouts, he blurted out that James was alive! After taking a few deep breaths, the doctor sat beside Kathy and told him what happenned... I was driving towards St Mary Hospital because I've yet to collected a few folders of very important research data. And while I was driving alog the mountain road, I saw a column of smoke from the mountainside. I saw you and James knocked uncounscious because of the accident. I took both of you to the hospital, and gave both of you treatments. James was having a very complicated disease, but the cure was found in that pile of important research data that I was looking for. James regained his counsciousness 2 days before you woke up,and so he helped me to find the folders in the hospital's basement. He found it.quote> "Thank you so much, sir," Kathy thanked him gratefully "If it wasn't you who saved us, we might have been dead in this abandoned town!" "Dear Madam, it was James who helped me to find for the folder that saved his life. James saved himself, with his very own effort, "replied the doctor. After spending 2 more days in the deserted town and the burned hospital, the doctor, Kathy and James embarked on a journey back to Slumberland. No longer after they returned to Slumberland, the doctors courage was being high praised by people around the city, and this soon spread to all around the region. After receiving the good news that Kathy and James were alive, Kathy's father, the chairperson of Candomile Construction (the one who pulled back the plans on recontructing Botania due to the city's current situation), forked out 5 million dollars to revive Silent Creek. Firstly, a team of 400 workers are sent to Silent Creek to repair the damaged transport system and also repair the city parks and remove the debris. Recontruction works also begins. After months of rebuilding Silent Creek, the little town was finally revived with glory. St Mary Hospital was reconstructed and expanded, and new neighbouhoods are being built. Residents are now attracted to Silent Creek because of its forests and its isolated nature. Silent Creek is now nominated as the most desirable place to live in Botania because of its excellent healthcare system and of its small population and calm environment. A memorial is also erected in the city, mourning over the loss of lives because of the 207 fire and the destruction of the city. Now, Silent Creek is just like a phoenix rising from the ashes That's all for this update, and I hope that you've enjoyed reading this story and this CJ! P.S.: Sorry for my bad English...

@Fabiocb: Hey Fabiocb, thanks for all the comments and compliments! Well, your CJ is also a great source of inspiration because there is where I can really learn how to layout a metropolis (since I've been building suburbs ever since)! Thanks! @magpieshooter: Thanks for your compliments! Well, I've to admit that you're a great commentor who gives constructive comments See you around! And oh yes, Kinata Region is going on so well I can't keep my eyes off it! @ThomasAH: Hey dude, I really have to thank you because you took the effort to read through the updates you've missed! Thanks for following this CJ so closely @sloppet: Sloppet, thanks for dropping by and commenting! @jacqulina: Hi there! Thanks for being so supportive and a frequent commenter! I'm so proud having you around giving me support and commenting! Oh, and I've just discovered that we can actually rate people! Guess how much I rated you @simfreak9: Thanks for commenting! See you around and I'm glad that you've enjoyed reading this CJ. Update #14 will be up soon... stay tuned!

After reading the newspaper cuttings above, here are some pictures to let you have a clearer idea what happenned back in Silent Creek. The fire department has classified the fire source as "unknown", and has stopped investigation since the town was evacuated. BEFORE THE FIRE DURING THE FEBRUARY 7TH FIRE AFTER THE FIRE THE STORY BEGINS One fine day, a mother and her son, Kathy and James, arrived at Slumberland. They saw the newspaper clipping about Silent Creek boasting it's excellent healthcare services, and so they decided to come to Botania to seek treatment for James diseases which other doctors claimed that they have no cure. Residents at Slumberland tried to persuade both of them from not entering Silent Creek, claiming that it is a "tainted town" after the Febraruy 7th fire. They even told them different scenarios whereby people living near the border of Slumberland have spiritual encounters with the fire's victims in Silent Creek, which is just across the border. Kathy insisted that her son's illness is so serious that he needed immediate treatment from the best available doctor in Silent Creek. Residents of Slumberland told her that it is practically impossible since the town was vacated a few weeks ago. Ignoring the people's persuasion, she rented a van and headed right to Silent Creek. To her horror, the town was really vacated and abandoned. What was left behind were charred buildings, damaged roadways and burnt trees. She entered Silent Creek from Slumberland, and headed north of the city where St Mary Hospital is located. Due to the way to town is constructed, she have to drive east and then find a slip road that heads to north. After hours of wandering inside the lifeless city, Kathy finally found a slip road that leads to the northern part of Silent Creek. It was nighttime. James was asleep in the van while Kathy tries to concentrate. To Kathy's amazement, some of the city's lights are still on. She drove carefully under the flickering street lights and on the bumpy, damaged roadway. While she was driving, she drove over a big hole in the road, causing the car to skid, and then crash towards to mountain side along the road that leads to St Mary Hospital. Kathy passed out. It was 3.00am in the morning. Story to

Okay, here is the last newspaper cutting before the official release of update 13 Enjoy reading, and hope that you've more or less figured out the plot for the next update
-
Before Update #13 comes, here is another newspaper cutting a few weeks ago. This is just another prelude to the upcoming update
-
@magpieshooter: Hey MP, thanks for being so supportive and a frequent commenter! More newspaper cuttings will be done as this CJ goes on,so watch out for more @jacqulina: Hi there your Simtropolis very own Friendliest Forumer! I really have to thank you for all your unparalleled support and comments Short but very cosntructive indeed! Oh, and sorry if all the newspaper cuttings have overwhelming amount of grammar and spelling errors. This is because sometimes I type too fast and then saved the picture and then closed the photshop without saving it, so some mistakes can't be really corrected. Anyway, English isn't my first language, so I am really sorry if you have to bear with all my lousy Engrish newspaper cuttings

Hi there everyone! Now this CJ is moving on to its 12th update, featuring Sunway City! Sunway City got its name from a corporation named Sunway that found this city and helped the government to develop it. After years of managing the city, Sunway Corporation has proved that it has the talent in managing cities - Sunway City is currently the highest populated city among all cities in the region. It is also featured in the list of "Top 20 Best Places To Live In SimNation", with the rank of 15th. Now let's have a look at the bird's eye view of the city Now let's move on to the rest of the city Well, the next update about Silent Creek will be interesting, afer you've read this newpaper clipping on the 9th of January 2006. That's all for this update. Hope you've enjoyed reading it! All sort of comments are welcomed, ranging from constructive ones to critiziting ones. This is the only way I can improve my journalso that it suits everybody's taste Next update featuring Silent Creek. Spooky.

Hi there! I can't wait for the next update to be posted... this CJ has been going on really well! On the other hand, I am so excitied because now I have another excellent CJ to read, from Fabiocb All the best and rest assured I will follow your next CJ closely

Great introduction! I love the giant spider (is it?) in the middle of the farm. Can't wait for the next update to come Anyway, if you are referring to the breakage of lines as the position of text, you can use this tag: <br /> between your sentences. Each one will break the text into a new line while two of them will break them up into paragraph (where you have an additonal empty line in between)... hope this helps P.S.: In case you don't get what I mean... Using 1 <br /> code will give you the following result: Port Autumndale What you can do when you have too much moneyquote> Using 2 <br /> codes will give you the following result: Port Autumndale What you can do when you have too much moneyquote> Hope this helps (more)

@jacqulina: Dear Jacqulina, since English isn't my first language, I've really ran out of words that can reflect my sincerely in thanking you for being so supportive! I can only say a big big big thanks to you because of the priceless support and motivation you've gave me! @Fabiocb: Yup. So if you are on a holiday, why not try dropping by Botania via Ferry? Ah, sorry but Botania doesn't have an airport yet... thanks for dropping by! @CDI_spy: Thanks a lot! But the stunning screenshots come with a price - very user-unfriendly to those using 56k moden or dialup internet connection. @magpieshooter: A million thanks to MP! Firstly for being so supportive (as shown by his comments) and secondly for his compliments! Thanks for all your support! A token of appreciation from me, presenting you Botania's first region transport map! Hope this map is able to let you know more about how Botania looks like when I've finished loading the region Thanks for following this CJ! Please do follow this CJ closely for the next few updates, because I rest assure you that they'll be juicier than before!
-
Well, I have to first say that you have the real courage to actually start a CJ! After starting my first CJ weeks ago I found out that there are lot of things besides buidling your cities when writing and planning for your CJ. I can't wait for the first update to come out. Sincerely wishing you all the best Will come back and drop a comment often.
-
@realdimension: Thanks! If you carefully observe, only the residential zones are carefully zoned. Commercial and industrial zones are rather griddy, and I just don't know why I can't make them ungriddy @bat: Thanks for your kind comment! @simfreak9: Thanks again! @jacqulina: What can I say about your continuous support? You're an awesome member and should be rewarded in one way or another... but sorry I can't find any award for you, except for voting you as the Friendliest Forumer for the Trixies this year @ThomasAH: Hey dude! Thanks for dropping by again! You motivated me to update this CJ frequently! Cheers! @jobass24us: It is my pleasure for this CJ to inspire you... anyway, I got inspired by Kinata Region (Magpieshooter's CJ), Green Depra (Choco's CJ) and Savanah Way (Shadow Assassin'sCJ), Sinop - Homeland of Waters (Fabiocb's CJ), City of Edmonton (Jersey Devil's CJ)... take some time and read them! They are excellent work! Thanks a lot for your continuous support and comments! Anyway, to those who read but didn't post any comments, enjoy reading! As long as you've enjoyed this CJ, I am very pleased already. Okay, let's move on to Update #11! Finally~ Welcome back people!!! I am glad to present you Botania's 11th Update. In fact, it is the first COMBINED update, featuring Harmonic Gardens and Nicole! WARNING: This update is overloaded with pictures! Sorry to those who uses dialup! HARMONIC GARDENS Harmonic Gardens is a miserably small piece of land sandwiched between the open sea, Nicole and Deltaria (which is not yet featured in this CJ). It holds a mere 2000+ residents, but a very nice place to live. This makes the land over here very expensive indeed! Well, now let's move on to... NICOLE Nicole is a city with more medium-density zones than low density zones, since more and more people from other parts of SimNation are attracted to Botania because of its lush greenery and warm and wet climate. A river cuts through Nicole. The river is called Nicole River, which links Lake Botania and the Open Sea. Yup, and here's the end of this update! I am sorry for this image overloaded update! Hope you've enjoyed viewing it! Oh, and before I end, here is a teaser shot of the city, Sunway, featured in the next update (Update #12). Hope you can follow this CJ because the next few updates will be extremely ineteresting! Why? Let's wait and see Thanks for reading Botania, my very first CJ! See you around!

@rooker1: Hey dude thanks for the compliment. And currently all my citizens go to work via roads, rail and ferry. I haven't added an airport yet, since the number of cities isn't too much and there ain't any metropolis built yet. I've just downloaded Airport Back v1.3 and trying it out this afternoon @Sisu: Well, yup, those are the lighted palms. I downloaded them not for their lighting but their very natural curve in their branches and the leaves @refsgotpaid: Welcome to Simtropolis, and thanks for commenting! @ThomasAH: Thanks for the compliment! I took pains to construct the curved highways since their are not totally diagonal nor totally straight. @Fallon144: Thanks for dropping by! @jacqulina: I have to say a big big big thank you!!! You are also so supportive! @magpieshooter: Hi there! Sorry that I have to need you to write this authentication note for me! Sorry for all the trouble caused... anyway, thanks for dropping by and I liek your CJ because of your awesome mosiacs! @Fabiocb: Thanks for following this CJ! Well, I have to give credits for PEG for the awesome stream and pond kits and about the interchange... it's quite easy to make. Anyway it is quite symmetrical, sort of boring. Thanks again to those who read and especially those who drop their comments over here! Now let's move on to the 10th update! Yay! Hi there everyone! I've changed the image layout colour by a little bit, to a green colour. Quite wierd because the previous updates all the bottom bar is in brown colour which doesn't really match the theme of Botania Here are some close-up shots of Lakeside. Due to time contraints yesterday I am unable to post all of them. Now here they are: Hope you've enjoyed reading and following this CJ! Oh, and anyway, the next whole week is school holiday over here so expect to see loads of updates and iamges! Cheers!
-
Omigosh, well done Choco! I like the mosiac you've created, and most importantly, the mix of colourful buildings and brick-red streets in your CJ! Awsome job and I can't wait for the next update!
-
Hi all! Thanks a lot for following this CJ of mine! A million thank you. Before I start this update, I would like to reply the viewer's comments (anyway, thanks a lot for commenting! ) @chocolatemax285: Omigosh, I didn't really expect both of us will come out of making a national park / reserve area for our CJ... what an interesting and fascinating coincidence! Well, I also have to give credit to you for giving the the courage to start this CJ, after reading yours Cheers! And thanks for commenting! @jacqulina: I have to thank you for giving me to extremely important motivation to keep on updating. Actually due to school work (loads of them) I actually planned to do the update this weekend. But after seeing your (and of course, others) comments, I have the urge to update this CJ asap so that I won't let my readers down @mkwetters: Hey dude a warm welcome to Simtropolis! Anyway thanks for coming to this CJ and commenting! @magpieshooter: I am extremely apologetic about this CJ forcing you to change the layout of your city name. Well, actullay I am the one who should change because you suggested the city name in your CJ first. Sorry! Anyway, thanks for following this CJ and thanks for the effort! Lakeside Drive It is the highway that cuts through the entire width of the city, providing it access to Pleasant Hill and Nicole (not yet featured in this CJ). It is the only route that residents can exit the city to work in commercial sectors of other neighbouring cities. Construction of the highway. I've used the method suggested by somebody (sorry I've forgot your name, but your tutorial that teaches me to make curved highways is unforgettable!) - placing labels along the length of the desired highway path, and then build the highway through the labels. And the final result is indeed very pleasing The partly completed Lakeside Drive. This is featuring part of the curved highway with an extensive interchange built to facilitate vehicle movement, reduce commute time and also makes the city looks nice City Screenshots This is the part of this update where the screenshots of the city are taken at the normal 4th degree zoom. Enjoy viewing! Now we've finished this section. Here comes the exciting part - we're moving on the close-up section, where you can have a really good look at some city details Yay, now let's go~ Well, due to time constriant, this is probably the end of this update. I am sorry for any disappointment caused, but rest assured that the next update will be out this weekend *promise!* So fret not, because besides the immediately coming out update (the next one, this weekend!), I've made a mosiac of Lakeside Enjoy! See you!

@magpieshooter: Hey MS, thanks for dropping by again! Yup, I really have to give you almost all the credits for giving me the inspiration to start this CJ. Really! I was in Simtropolis since 2004, but back then I was just a little quiet lurker. After reading your CJ Kinata Region, I decided to start my own! And apologies if this CJ made you feel that I've got lots of layout ideas from your CJ. @SoulStealer: Thanks for commenting! Well, I like PEG's stuff because they're indeed very useful in CJs! Like the PEG's stream kit and pond kit... they helped me out a lot to insert some extent of realism into this CJ. @jacqulina: A million sincere thanks from me for being super supportive since the start of this CJ! Well, you do really deserve the title - friendliest forumer! @azul_blue_aoi: Well, I like your picture... a woman accidentally falling into sime big hole *ouch* @Fabiocb: Thanks Fabiocb for dropping by! Well, actually I must admit that I am super lousy at terraforming. What I did was I used the Hill Brush Tool in God Mode and anyhow create a little hill in the middle of the map. Anyway, thanks for your comment and support! @realdimension: Hi there! Thanks for reading this CJ and your priceless comments! @jobass24us: Hey thanks for dropping by! In fact in this CJ I didn't really put much detail into it. Just the close up screenshots made it look great @mjig_dudy: Actually how I lay out the roads is my random and on-the-spot imagination. I never really put much effort into laying out roads and streets (except for the highways)... @EricPoehlsen: Thanks for dropping by! It looks so green because it is Botania Anyway, not to worry too much about the double post. Due to real world hold ups (thanks to loads of college homework, again), I am forced to update this CJ this coming Friday or weekend. Sorry for those who can't wait for the next update to be posted. Apologies from me. Anyway, enjoy your stay in Simtropolis! Cheers~
-
@jacqulina: Thanks a lot for your constant support, visits and comments! @sloppet: A million thank you for your continuous support! Well, you've motivated me to make this CJ better! @Fabiocb: Hey thanks for dropping by again! Well, I didn't do much planning actually - what I did is actually to layout the avenues and highways first. After that, all the roads, rail, streets and zones just come along with imagination on the spot. @sisu: Thanks for commenting! Well, in my cities of this CJ people live very near to the environment and nature... so I named it Botania @ThomasAH: Welcome to Simtropolis! I am actually very honour for you to post your very first post in my CJ!!! Thanks for your support! This CJ will be updated very soon!
