IMPORTANT! Hi everyone! I would like to explain that something hard happened to me since last week... My girlfriend and me break off after two years and five month. These times are very hard but I'm going to look forward. I must find a new appartement and I'll be on holidays for three weeks from next thursday. For the moment my CJ will be on hold for at least one month or more... I'm disgusted by this game for the moment because I spent too much time on it instead of spend time with her... but it wasn't the only for why we break off. So, hope you'll understand. Take care all and I'll probably post something here during my vacations. Sincerely yours. David
  3. The different looks of NYC

That's a terrible update! I like the comparaison between the picture of the interchange and how you translate it in SC4! You give to me some nice ideas for my region with your park (benches, fences, etc.) ! Take care. David

Jamonbread - Thank you very much for your comment! Yes, these curve are not very beautiful. We are very far from what we can do with Citiex XL but it's why I don't have a lot of curved road.. I though about the FAR puzzle pieces but it avoids you to plop grass texture or something else. I also use a light grey pavement texture mod for the road and these pieces are dark grey, it wouldn't be fantastic... MTLT_17 - Hi! Thank you for your post. It would be a great idea (I must finish the region before) If people are not affraid by the long list of plugin I have... to be continued! I'm very glad that you appreciate my region and my work! Hope you get inspired as well! Thank you again and take care Marshall! Simbourgeois - Yes, I think so or during the last Spring Break... Raysfan - Hi. It's very simple. Just have to plop all the building you plan to have for your downtown, main building's side in front of you. You make a "print-screen" and save the image on Paintbrush. Simply select the building's front by copy-paste in a new window. After, you must to strecht verticaly every facade by 15°, clean the background and make some small retouching and to place them by order of size. You'll have probably a real-world based building with it's correct size. It will be used to determine the size of the other building. It's very funny to do! Take care and thank you. bakercity - Hello JKB! Glad to see you back! My region is going well hope you're too. Take care my friend and thank you for your visit! Farley, IA pop: 5'604 Now we'll go out of the suburbs to make a small trip to the southwestern-most city in the Dubuque's metro region. 16. Dubuque, Iowa

Hope you're going well!!! Due to a wedding this weekend (with my girlfriend's family staying for a week) I'wont be able to make any update (and to play) until wednesday or thursday... so, I spend one little hour at work (during the lunch break of course) to make a Skyscraperpage-like diagram with the major building in Dubuque, IA. CBD of Dubuque is very humble and scaled to a city of its size (I get inspired by Des Moines, IA; Toledo, OH; Dayton, OH or Rochester, NY) Also, no 500m tall building or a uggly skyscraper jungle...) Here is a link for the original size: http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/7190/skylinej.jpg It's very funny to see how powerful Paintbrush is... Thank you and see you soon! David

penguin007 - Thank you Will! lucky7 - Thank you René! Yes, it is! What a brilliant idea to use these pieces to make large and modular warehouses. It would be a great idea to use the same logic for a collection of modular warehouses. Somebody on the STEX made modular storage center. So it wouldn't be difficult for a BATer to creat a collection. For my region view, I use the sc4mapper region view. Better and much more detailled (I often make a "print screen" to select a part of my region) Thank you again René for your comment! Take care and receive the same encouragement from me for your region! thepokemaniac - Thank you very much Adam! I think I'll reach the 1.5 million of population when the region will be done! Thank you and take care! David

Wow, it would be a very huge recreation!!! As lucky7 said, take your time and if you see you waiste your time on large farmlands, don't hesite to reduce the size of your region (make back-ups with an external hard disk can be very helpfull if you want to go back to a larger version) Hope you will have fun with Columbus, OH!!! David

dafiden - Hi, yes I do. So I can have realistic-looking of my city. It takes a lot of time to finish one map but the result is just amazing! Thank you for your comment! Mayorm - Thank you very much! Glad that you enjoyed my prison! nate1245 - Thank you for your comment Nate! It's really appreciated! Satellite View - Downtown I don't have a lot of time this week to keep my work forward. So, I touched up some part of my region, especially South Dubuque and downtown. I've added a larger river (Grande Fourche River) who sepparate downtown to the southern neighborood and flows to the Massagamee River. Some industries will take place in the area west of the baseball park (South Pointe Field)... Roosevelt St. (parralell to the Grande Fourche River) have been raised to avoid on-grade crossing with the railtracks (some close-up pictures will be posted soon) Grande Fourche River needs to be re-worked a little bit to looks less smooth-curved. Here is the picture! Thanks! David

crazychickensc12 - Thank you! I agree with you, the PEG's Stream Kit is a wonderful and usefull pack that gives you the ability to make realistic and tiny rivers. Benedict - Thank you! Sure that these ploppable powerlines look better than the in-game ones... Raysfan16 - Thank you very much for your comment! I'm glad you appreciate it! rewright - Not entirely, I've download a parking lot pack with parking entrance that are transite enabled (1x1) and I've reloted them using PEG's textures for the driveways. Their function is only to simulate parking or path entrance and they are very modular! Thanks for your post Dick! Shilka - Thank you, I'm very glad by your comment! Midwestern cities fit good with the in-game orthogonal pattern. I get inspired a lot by image I can find with Google Earth. Thank you again man! penguin007 - Thank you Will! 22. Dubuque, Iowa

Benedict - Yep, but it's the only way to make something realistic with the limitation of the game... Hope to make something different when I'll buy Cities XL ; Thanks for your comment! art128 - Thank you! The terrain texture appears unfortunately under the overpasses... and some curved pieces would be more aesthetic. tkuelker(at)gmail.com - I'm going to do that for you as soon as possible. Thank you! TmihuelT - Thank you Miguel! rewright - Thank you Dick. Your comment is very appreciated! crazychickensc12 - Thank you very much!
