Dwro8ea, I had a similar issue after patching and found that the patch sets some detail setting to low. If anything in graphic options is on low, try setting it to high. I believe that, if this is the problem, you need to re-plop buildings without the right props to get the props to appear, such as plazas.

Can't unlock space port by playing UDI mission

I've been playing the Super Seat Belt Fabric For Space Ships mission over and over, but can't unlock the space port. I beat it like five or six times in a row before the game bugged and placed me outside the rail and I lost because of that. How many times do I have to beat this mission to get the space port? -

Water lot placement distorts smooth coastline

Is there a certain method to place water or coastline lots? Whenever I place one, excluding the beach, I get an ugly sharp drop in the land right before the lot, and my smooth coastline that came with the map is ruined. The attached screenshot shows what it looks like. The lot I'm trying to place (SIMTANIC port) is a water lot, the kind that can also be placed in the middle of the water, if it makes a difference. I would like to place it without a sharp land drop, but rather keep my smooth coastline somehow. -

Ok, thanks, I made the terrain lower by the lot and it made the slope slightly more realistic. -

Solar power plant becomes unavailable after first plop

Here's something that has always happened to me and I hope might be fixed: when I unlock the solar power plant, it acts like most other rewards in that it can only be placed once and then it becomes grayed out. It shows the requirements under the icon instead of saying "This building cannot be built because it already exists in this city." I do meet the requirements. This happens on and off in my different cities; in some cities I'm able to place more than one but in others it is limited to one of them. At first I thought this was happening due to clicking "Build now" in the unlock message and placing it then, but I tried going into the power plants menu and placing it from there and this still happens. Can anyone help me here? I would really prefer to not use the "You don't deserve it" cheat. -

Well, I'm pretty sure I've restarted the game many times after losing it in rewards in my various cities. I do meet the requirements; it became unavailable right after the first plop, so nothing had changed. Larks2242: I never thought the requirements were per-plant before. Do you mean that I need 6000 high-wealth residents for two plants, and so on? -
When I have two separate roads next to each other for whatever reason and one piece of them is not near a zone, the piece not near a zone and only that piece will have no sidewalk on it, regardless of whether the areas next to it have sidewalks. The screenshot pretty much says it all: I'm wondering if there is a mod somewhere out there that will allow me to have a sidewalk on that one tile of road where there's a gap in the sidewalk currently, such as a puzzle piece mod that always has sidewalks on the road puzzle pieces. Is there such a mod in existence that will let me have a sidewalk there?

No sidewalks when no zone near road

Thanks for the replies, but still I've had no luck filling in that tile with sidewalk. Tkuelker, I'm not sure I understand your instructions...I already have a commercial zone along the whole of the outer one-way road, so I tried dragging a zone over that tile like you said, but nothing happened. I tried this with Residential, Commercial, and Industrial zones. Am I getting this right? -

All good solutions that I'll try to implement. @kingdiz_55: Yes, I'll do that, but only when sims have a roundabout to change lanes in. It's fine, though, to have crossing one-way roads because they don't utilize their lights at all. Unfortunately, some of my small cities are elevated rail over road-based, so crossing roads across avenues are pretty much mandatory in those cases. @JGellock: Yes, I guess I'll just expand the subway network there; it's covering only half of the city right now. I do have SFBT stations for tram-in-avenue that have a bus stop as well, and also the Mas'71 subway/bus in avenue roundabout station I recently downloaded and am now using often. @YoshiMX3: I may do that for the main roadways. This might be a little off topic, but do you know what highway wall mod that is in the pic you posted? It looks really nice. -

Yes, I'm plopping it from the power menu when I do plop it. I don't think it shows up in Rewards. Anyway, I've moved on to Geothermal power, which is much cheaper than solar and also clean, so this isn't as important now. But it would still be nice to figure out why this is happening. -

I think the same trees in a squarish pattern at the base looks repetitive...if you could add different kinds and move them around more it would look cooler. I agree with Sean Walker that the lot looks empty; maybe you could add a flower garden or fountain. Does it have doors at the bottom? I can't really tell. Otherwise the building looks great.

Strange result from ground light rail OnSlope

I'm trying to build a ground light rail OnSlope section over a sunken highway (made with smoncrie's Hole Digging Lots). I plop the puzzle piece, but get a weird result that can't be right. Take a look at the attachment to see what I mean. I'm guessing I'm not doing something right. I searched around, but didn't find documentation for this specific puzzle piece. As the picture shows, viaduct rail OnSlope works fine. I've tried the GLR OnSlope with and without the BRF_TunnelAndSlopeMod installed, getting the same result both times. -

I was hoping someone knew if there is a mod that replaces the steam train with one that looks more realistic, big and black like this one. I've searched, but can't find anything of the sort.

Hm, well I guess that explains why roundabouts seem to be so popular. I will try adding frontage roads in my cities, and hopefully that'll help. -
Sims think elevated rail/monorail shops are stations

I'm having a problem with Deadwoods' elevated rail shops and monorail shops. I PMed him about a week back, but haven't had any reply yet. The problem is that my Sims think that these shops are stations, meaning that they will stop their trams and monorails on them for a few seconds, dramatically increasing congestion, or appear/disappear from them. Does this happen to everybody, or just me? I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be this way. -
