I am not 100% sure if that has happened to anybody, however there have been a few stories about it, to the best of my memories. I personally do not like these kind of laws, however, as it pits you word up against the officer. i've heard of plenty of cases of officers who have greatly exadurated things because they are a tool. (eg. someone who accelerated to the speedlimit... vigoursly, then stopped at the closest safest spot after being hailed down by an officer who was standing a bit up the road became "speeding past at 80km/h and tried to run me down" (was a 60 zone, guy never went past 60km/h, but was in first gear most of the way.)) In short: I don't like giving police these summary powers, because the courts in general are so against any "hooning" that you can't really fight any false charges.

More places for racing need to be provided. And not some place out in the sticks that takes an hour to get to, requires a lot of time to register for and requires a specific license. What is needed is something that you can rock up to on a friday night, have a few races for a little bit of money on a proper well maintained drag strip. Also, road laws in Australia are made by the state, it varies depending on where you go. Some places are Draconian, others a lot more lienent, however recently its been all the rage to introduce "hoon laws" that, in my opinion, don't really target the right area. (most are "oh stop the young drivers from driving high powered vehicles", when infact most racing etc. is done by people in their late 20's). I could rant for days about Australia's road laws though.

I'd say a case against the price of videogames down under would be more likely to go through a 60USD game is 100AUD. 60USD is 70-80AUD though

Yes, but water vapour is a thing that occurs in great abundance naturally, and as such humans putting it into the atmosphere isn't going to have a huge effect on it, as it all gets dropped out rather quickly and doesn't build up. unlike CO2.

Yeah, global warming/climiate change, regarless if its man made or natural, is going to cause a lot of problems in the future. Infrastructure seems to be the big one, as well as worsened natural disasters. It is not, however, going to wipe out all life on the planet or cause some gaint cataclysim destroing all life on earth as some people claim.

The point that they are making is that the sharing of known exploit amoungst computer antivirus companies (such as as the conventions that they have, and the competitions that they run for hackers to hack something) means that people actually know how to exploite the problems nessesecating the anitvirus software. They also assume that if this didn't happen, noone would know about any holes and no AV software would be needed. which is a load of crap of course.

Its still pretty unpractical to have manned colonies in space when we've got perfectly good robotic technology now. Though even getting that there is probably unpractical. fact of the matter is: its not worth going into space now, even if we found an asteroid that was 100*100*100 km and made of pure iron, its still cheaper to get it on earth. We should be focusing on cheaper launch methods instead of actually travelling to mars.

I've never once come into contact with anything that needed accuracy greater than down to degrees (Centigrade as well, which is bigger than Fahrenheit). We simply can't control the temperature finely enough for it to matter.

I question weather the military exercise or the attitude of the general law enforcement community which caused it. I don't know the detail of the incident, but he really should have only been shot if he had a gun or knife himself and was actually attacking the officer.

I'm not that suprised that something like that exists. And i guess i'm not surprised that it's kept a good secret aswell. Pretty cool really.

Might not be hot for Australia, but the buildings in europe aren't exactly built for it either i'd imagine. Just like i can barely tolerate less than 15C here, because the large windows etc. let it all in.

What system does it use exactly? more advanced than just lights as signals?

A lot of car crashes are caused by inadequate road surfaces. So yes, crash is bad, but many more people have died as a result of car crashes since then, and probably some of them that could have been prevented.
