xiziz replied to johnboy12's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I bought my sc4 & Rh at the same time, and only searching in a 5km radius, thats a little bit to small dont you think, my closest store is 10km, and thats a grocery one, so i bought the game while coming home from school one day, since my local school is in Stockholm. a little detour, but definantley worth is... mind you, my local grocery store propaly had it in at the time, never checked, i buy my stuff intown, seems more logical, and since im in there 5 days a week usualy... summer break now ^^ Cheers -
What is the official language of your city/region.
xiziz replied to Jerebannus XVI's topic in New Members Information
In Fwandreii the 4 still living Languages are, English(various European Accsents), Russian, Chinese, Japanese. Since all of Shintose Population originated from Fwandreii it has the same languages. Though English & Japanese being the official Languages(because of them beeing the largest languages. However, English is spoken by everyone, since its been the Major language in Fwandreii for 100 years, and is tought with local dialects. Shintose'ians are already getting their own dialect, a cross breed. Cheers for my fisrt post since Hultsfred ^^ /Sim -
Another earlymorning post... Time is ~0900, Stockholm Time. And no, i havnt sleept yet... First of all, Hello, i didnt finish enough on the city for update 10, RCI growables can make life easy for you, and really hard, im having a mixture of both ^^ but the result will be worth it, and i guess most will like it, ive got a small teaserpic here, the area itself isnt finished, but the area on the pic is finished, and that is what matters isnt it, and you will understand why this update is taking time, when you se it... As for when the next update is due, well, i wouldnt post a teaser if its coming tomorrow, would i? Tomorrow im Leaving for a Music-Festival, get drunk, lissen to good music and have a good time. and il be back to continue playing the region on sunday, though sunday will be dedicated to resting, and if the growables play with me on monday, thats when the update will come, Im sorry for having you wait another week on a real, good, update(though im very happy with the story in the last one) Oh, and for the story in the last one, sorry bout the chocolate, its just one of those things im addicted to, and i couldnt find any for a few days, so it just kept coming back... and into the story... Gomennasai Feedback jacqulina, thanx for the comment, and yeah, to much chocolate is bad for most people, i just happen to one of those whom the only major effect it has is getting me addicted to it :/ but i guess, its better than tobacco or drugs anyway... marrast, naaww, oh thanx a lot marrast ^^. And from the ammount of comment mentioning the Airstrip, your not alone. theblademaster, as for long haul(Planes from ofregion) that would be awhile, since size of those planes are a lot larger than this little runway can handle(think about it, there covering the distance of about 1

Growable or plopable. Which do you prefer?
xiziz replied to austino's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
ive got some 2000+ Plugins, i prefer growables infact, 95% of my downloads are growables(not counting all the propacks one has do download nowadays), The Ploppables i download are all Reward/Landmark/Park related, or the occasional civic. I like to grow my city forth, saying that i do have a huge standars for the growables that are allowd to stay, they should fit in where there built. otherwise Mr. Bulldozer comes, and he is always very, very buissy. Date: 5/28/2005 11:33:10 AM Author: Simworld 056132 Thanks, your advice is starting to work, the last time I updated my CJ i got 3 nice comments. Only a couple of things What do they mostly like in CJs? What downloads really give great comments, buildings, textures, BATs, water color ect.quote> il answer these 2 questions of yours, before my real post, People like CJ's that are Indivudual, and have that special feel that no other cj has, that means, your style, your cj, your details, your way of telling the story. As for downloads, if you just want comment, look out for large extravagant buildings on small sites, so to say, buildings that are very Rare, those gets a lot of where did you get that? comments. *to have your cj beeing popular, you will need the determination, i guess the first 5-10 pages are a tough start, but then people will remember it. *It will have to have something to get it out of the masses of CJ's, something that makes your cj special(otherwise the visitor can just go to one of the other 100 of cj that show the same thing) *A good story, even if it dosent have a main objective, having a character explore the cj is a popular way of telling the story, History of places, the more work one puts into storyline and characters the better the responce *The details, every last little detail counts, a small park turned the wrong way may make your cj look unprofessional, pause-edges & The dredded ledge of hell also look bad, the UI and U-Drive it icons look horrible in screenshots, personally, i even think the UI is too visible when Minimised(yeah, into that 20x20px transparent square). so thats something i cut out in Photoshop. *Find a good ballance between regular updates, and the time spent making one. My updates take about 2-4 hours to make, depending on size, and thats just storywriting, image editing and posting! Plaing the game for an update usually is 10-15 hours of gameplay. And, I personally look at most journals at least once, so first impressions are important, as for posting comments, im very bad at this myself, and only do it if i want to tell the author something, or if i really, really admire some picture. But i dont expect to get a lot of comments, even if my newest CJ has been(for me anyway) an enourmous succsess with 1+ comments per update. though its my 4th Cj, and i guess its a learning thing, the more you play(or make cj's) the better you become at playing(making them). One dosnt master a Martial-Art in a day, it takes years, the learing curve might be simpler here, but the world still has that principle, acomplishments take time... Take care //Sim

Thanx Smurf! Some of the textures are temporary, and most will probably get some work done to them, but there basicly the way i want them. exept for that jetway, wich looks horrible. Well, due to Illness and RLS not much work has been done, and i have quite a bit of RLS left, though i did some work on the Medium Terminal, The rooftexture is way to bright, im gonna town it down, i still dont really get the specularlevel thing, i also added Windowpanes to the structure, so this is basicly the shape, though a lot of detailing is left. Hope you like it Cheers //Sim

first of, seeing as its the 11th now, Happy Birthday! Hope you enjoy it to the fullest ^^ as for the last update, that was an amizingly cute and wonderful mozaic, really gets a nice view of Costa Tramuntana, And loads of W2W, wich is, well, the best ^^ I did notice you also ran into one of the things i noticed yeastarday with the Diagonal Parks with trees, just outside the paris buildings(there on pic 36A_MOS_08.jpg) in the picture called 36A_MOS_09.jpg, the upper left of that picture. where the road intersecs the avenue, there is a gap in the fence. Just thought id point that out since i stumbled across it in Shion last night anyway ^^ Now out and enjoy your Birthday, you shouldnt be reading this now... should you? ^^ Cheers //Sim

Greater Marsalia Region, City at the Mediterranean
xiziz replied to Mickebear's topic in SC4 City Journals
Date: 6/9/2005 4:33:46 PM Author: Mickebear Hi Xiziz, Well, I live in Belgium and now in summer it is GMT +2, but where I come from originally it was also GMT +2 in winter, ie. Finland... Hugs Mickebear aka Mika quote> though, dosnt the GMT timezone also have daylight saving time or whatever its called? I guess your CET now anyway, and i was quite right, though Finland is just across the pudle of water, Belgium is not to far away eather. Cant wait for the update, Cheers Mate /Sim -
Feedback: All: il just have to rewright half an update because IE dosnt like me, glad i do most of the update in word. This will be a Story update, with a few pictures to compliment it, all pictures are at the end of the page. next update sould be larger and more based on Central Shion. the_crispbread_witch: Thanx for the comment, and that picture ows its existance to Cycledogg's mod, without the mod that area looked booring, i should know, since nothing(exept the flora and textures) have changed since i installed the mod. ^^ SC4 meister: Thanx for the comment here too, hope this is soon enough for you, have a nice lil read ^^ Leech10: Thanx for the comment, and this cj, wont be going of dying as long as i dont ^^ jacqulina: Thax for the comment! Mika: Thanx for the comment, and yeah, it was all of a coinsidence, i was looking for the Rail->subway tranition lot(wich i didnt have installed at the time), wich i have previosley used for Mines, but since it wasnt installed i couldnt find it. But i stumbled across those, and tryed it out, and im very happy with the outcome, the only dissapointing thing is that one can see the clifftexture through it if one looks closley, that one can. Dannato: Welcome to Shintose mate, ive been expecting you. Oh, and thanx for the comment, very apreciated. It's tricks like that that prove creativity and great building skills., that i have to say, i totaly agree with, some very wise words, as for Kopar mines, i explaned the entrances to Mika above, you should read that too. That is a neat lil invetion by Marrast you are looking for, its called Eladremmian Underwater cable Kit Hope you like it, i think this is the one you mean anyway. Cheers mate! And now to the main feature for this morning, yeah its morning, its ~0830 Stockholm Time, and i havnt slept a bit yet... Chapter 9, The First Flight Lying under a tree in the garden one afternoon, thinking about what was happening, hoping the Construction workers would build the park right, that the park would get that special feeling id tried to incorporate into it. That the Apartments on the Haven-side would come out nicely, that the offices and shops would flourish. And with Shion being constructed all over, it was quite amazing, new houses being build everywhere, the rich people moving out of town because of all the hassle and traffic. And tomorrow, I am going to be aboard the first plane to take off from Shion

xiziz replied to Mickebear's topic in SC4 City Journals
Wow, that is very nice, the all the chapters, looks really nice. And are those Roundabouts? ohh, neato. they dont look like one could do then ingame, but i guess i shall try it out now, cous that is a great way to itersect several roads, well, it seems to be the European way anyway. Gmt+2, that makes you from? not to far away from me anywho ^^ Cheers //Sim -
Feedback: Im sorry for the delays, il explain this better further down(at the end) SC4 meister: Then wait no longer ^^ Leech10: It usualy works if you refresh, or come back a little later, ofsite servers may not be 100% sure, but it strains ST less, and since i really dont have the option to have a personal imageserver, this is the best option i have ^^ andrew george: Thanx, and rest assured, it wont be happening again, unless my computer blows up and the entire house burns down. for once i found a good way of making sure its not gonna dissapear ^^ Shadow_Assassin: Well, when towns grow, things need to be moved, in this case its the farms that will have to move, but rest assured, all famers moved out against their real will, and that are willing to continue ther farming life, do get land, a bit more that what they owned before, on the outsirts, and unless the town experiences a huge boom as the door of imigration open(from the previous isles) they will most likley be able to stay there for a long long time. the_crispbread_witch: Knock yourself out ^^ im just happy you actually take your time coming here, and especially posting a comment. If you dont wanna read, dont, one should not do things one dosnt want to, that they sould not. jacqulina: Thanx as always Chapter 8, 2 months pass by. I wake with a large yawn as I usually do, get myself up and on my way to school, the tedious thing. Though Lars gave me a special assignment; one that will be around far longer than me. The land in the centre of the Shion Isle, Bill

Love that region Shot Dannato! really great. The Commons looks like a very nice place, Large parks allways make a city look so much better ^^ Cheers /Sim

Well, i started at the Medium Terminal about 1 hour ago, thought id show you a pic, this is the first stage to the Beta1 of the terminal, well to say, most of the building is still missing. But the general shape and hight is there(with the exeption of a roof... 3 Stories, 1st thought of to be Entrance/checkin. 2ond to be Arrivals & Taxfree, 3rd the Skylounge, Waiting area/Cafe, with the best views. Though most of the interiors wont be visible, and therefor uneseary to detail, i like to think this way so as to get an general idea of how space is used and needed. heres a preview pictures of the terminal: Now im of to eat, then actually play some sc4 Cheers /Sim Edit: Ive done some minor texturing to the Small Walkway & Jetway, though the jetway looks weird i think, and will most likley be retextured, and probably have some major structural changes. Atm, the sizes of the buildings are: Medium Terminal, 4x7 Lots, Small Walkway 1x2 Lots, Jetway, Model fits on an 1x2, Lot is going to be an 3x3. Cheers /Sim

ive got some 2.2k Plugins, over 550mb, though ive not got that many skyscrapers, since i ususaly dont build many of them
-
Hey, Thanx for the feedback, and yeah, i guess they would, but i plopped that terminal in 2 minutes using the 3 lots ive done so far(well, the green box really was only the testlot, to se the size of the terminal ingame, its the size(not shape mind you) the Medium Terminal) and the 2 basic bats that are already done. Oh, and thanx for the offers everyone, il keep them inmind, could come useful Cheers /Sim

Hello and welcome everyone, im proud to present you Update 7, although quite small, it will be compensated with updates 8 & 9, posibly even 10! as very large updates! Thanx for the comment Jacqulina! Without futher disruption: Chapter 7, The Future! As i woke the next day, i found a parcel on my colthes, i wipped it down into my bag the second before Sofia came in, Good yours already awake i see, she quicly said. She dressed me, why, well i guess she wanted to make sure i had proper clothes on me to school. nothing really fancy, just a blue dress, and a big blue ribbon in my hair. After breakfast, she drove me to school, let me of at the door, to find my own way, wich really wasnt a big problem, the school was tiny, 6 Classrooms, one for each primaryschool grade, as i walked past the classrooms to #1, right by the teachers longue, i looked in, most classes were tiny, some 80 kids were spread out over the classes. I got to the classroom, no one else was there yet, though i was 15 minutes early. I sat down at a table in the very back of the classroom. As the classroom filled up, people sat down far away from eachother, most of them with one of their parents beside them. The teacher introdused herself, and everyone got to play the usual namegames and stuff one allways had to do at the first day. as the first few days tend to be, it was a very quiet day. After an hour of playing games, we got to sit down and draw, the teacher obviousley didnt know what else to let everyone do the rest of the first day, she looked very young though. I took the chance to pick the parcel up, inside i found 3 pictures, and a few pices of papper. it was the infrastructure plans and major construction projects to be done within 4 months. The Parcel! http://img186.echo.cx/img186/5590/c71transitplan9cg.gif align=baseline> PIC 7.1: The first GIF file ive used in a CJ! it was 3 times as small as the exact same pic in JPG, thats why! otherwise self explanatory. http://img186.echo.cx/img186/5190/c72riverside6iw.jpg align=baseline> Pic 7.2: The Planned area for the riverside Shion. The seawall will be built all around. this should bring homes for 1000-2000 Shintosian's. http://img186.echo.cx/img186/9207/c73shion6bc.jpg align=baseline> Pic 7.3: The colorexplanations are below. Red: This is the Construction site of St. Pauls, wich is a very large cathedral, it will replace the house of worship, and be the towns primary building of faith. it will also become the highest building in the town. Altough construction is proseding very quickly, the exteriors are due to be up in 4 months, and ready to be used by 7 months. Robots are working on it 24/7. Green: The Farm & Field of Bill, is going to be used as a Park, the architect is to be chosen within 2 months. A New law makes it possible to evict Bill, one that will evict all farmers from the Isle of Shion, or the 3 that there are! Though the other 2 have already moved to Nausicaa, the buildings stand. Blue: The Road will have to be rerouted somewhat north, this for the rail to function once traffic increases, and because it is a more direct route to the brigde that will be built for the Shion -> Runway route. Purple: This is the location of the Trainstation, the trains will emerge out of tunnels, and pass up into the station, and then down into a tunnel again. this so that the isle wont be split into 2 halves because of rail, and because of the decreased amount of noise-pollution that will be generated by having the trains underground. Well folks, thats all for today. Cheers /Sim

Hey Frogface, been lurking quite some in your journal, and i like it, so i finaly decided upon making a comment ^^ The amount of small details are stunning, and you really bring forth the cj in an exiting way, really nice cj i think ^^ though, i have seen in your journal, and may others, the street mod, or whatever it is, wich looks great, the one that changes the streets into thouse with lined centre in rural areas, and i find that very realistic. and qould quite much enjoy them myself, but all efforts made to find them have ended up in vain, so do you remember where you got them? Cheers //Sim

Hello everyone This time ive not got an update, though i thought it was time to let ye know whats happening. The last 2 weeks ive had my grandparents from england over, as you know i live in sweden, so i dont get to se them a lot. but apart from that ive me and 3 freinds have had their 18th birthday, wich is cause to celebration, and together with working way to much, spending most of my freetime drunk or hungover, or sleeping, ive just not had the time to write an update, though i did get some work done ingame. But now im cutting down on my workhours(mainly for school, since my teachers are starting to coplain with me sleeping through all lessons), from 5 to 2 days. my grandparents have left, and i should be back in phase for the cj shortly, and the next update, well, expect it sooner rather than later. Once again, my apologies for not having an update for you, and not even a small pic, but im in school right now*sigh*... Feedback Leech10: To be honest, i do too, but there shall be something to remember anywho ^^ jacqulina: Thanx, and i hope to keep the story that way, getting more and more interesting ^^ SC4 meister: Bear with me, there should be one very soon, yes, that sounds ok, very soon ^^ sloppet: Thanx a lot ^^ fredval: Thanx for your comment, theyve allways meant much to me! Well, thats all i can give you right now, be sure to tune in very soon, and check out the newest update. Cheers /Sim

Wow, Fredval, I really enjoyed reading this last page, really neat, well, as for back as i can remember your work has allways been Top-Notch Finnegans Wake, Love this name, sounds very neat and Irish, and as all irish things do with me stirr up memories from my time living there, and beeing a rural town, it fits perfectly with the name. And i really enjoy watching villages grow, and the way youve used coustom lots, well, WOW! And the only constructive crittisism i could find to post, on the last picture, the global view of Pa
