Simtropolis begininng to feel like Cites XL ad?

Just wondering if any one else feels like simtropolis is pushing Cities XL a little hard. I feel like when I log on to the site I am hammered with Cities stuff. Just a thought. (And yes I donate to the site.) -

So I installed this program WindowBlinds, which changes your windows theme. It let me play sim city at first but frooze after a while. Now I cannot acces any of my old citys. I can access new ones, or ones that have yet to be names, ie still in god mod. It is not a plugin problem because it does it with no plugins. I have restored my computer to before it was installed, and unnistalled it before that. I think it changed some setting that is causing a conflect or something. Any help would be awesome. Thanks guys,..and girls. -

Wow, no one has any ideas? Where is the Moderator? I have re-installed sim city and it is still doing the same thing. Anyone know how to change settings back to what they were. I have done a system restore form like a week ago as well. Thanks -
I have been having random(well mostly when I zoom) CTDs. I have read most forums dealing with crashers and what worked for me is to set the priority to high(in task manager) for simcity4, and then enable the use of one core(if u have dual or more). Just search CTD in the forums. There is alot out there.

Hi, I just got a new computer and i am installing Sim city on it. It installed fine but when i got to play it, the game freezes for a second on the blue EA circular logo then crasher. I have a new copy of sim city 4 deluxe. I installed update 1 and then SC4 BAT Update and of course have no plugins. My computer has AMD 64 X2 Dual 6400+ 3.21 GHz, 3.50 GB RAM Xp Proffesional version 2002 Service pack 2 And a GeForce 7600 GT sound card I have read through the forums and found similiar problems, but no solutions. PIease Help I have played sim city for 5 years now, and would love to put it on my new computer. -

Dude you were so right! I didnt have the right audio driver. Everything is up and running great, and about 100X faster I might add. -

Wow! Really? I read on other post that people have had higher specs? Do you know what is to high. I can remove some ram if you think that would help. Thanks for the help. -
sc4 Mapper: How do I get the maps to render with large cities?

Hi first let me say I love SC4 Mapper. But When I render maps they always have a small city config(all red). I tried to get around it by when I create a map using mapper i load a config that is all blue. But nothing happens when I hit ok. It doesnt even seem like it is trying to create the map. I saw that the SC4 mapper came with files namedCity - Large.sc4, Small.sc4, etc. Can I change the default load confing using this files? thanks for all the help. -

Quite simply one the best and classiest CJs' I have seen in a while. Very well put together, great pics, and a good story line to tie it all together. Very nice.

One word MADDEN. EA doesnt need to make profit off other games. It has the number one selling piece of media of all time. Which comes out with a new version, that is bought right up, every year. Truly a cash cow. They owe it to the gaming community to develop a new sim city that real fans will enjoy. They do not need to be driven by pure profits. As far as a business model goes one can look at their stock and see they need to do some long term adjusting of their model to sustain a market share outside of sport and movie games. -
Umm...This looks nothing like middle earth. There are several good middle earth maps on the stex, why not use one if them. There are even middle earth buildings. Where are those? Where are the notable land marks. Nice waterfalls, but this looks nothing like middle earth.

Like those that were made for SC 4. Prob. not. There is no where near the people playing and modding SC 4 for SCS. As I see it you might have few people creating plugins for SCS but they will eventually die off because of loss of interest. Stick with SC 4, and you will cont. to have a number of great plugins to choose from.
