Sorry about that. Tungston is right - and I should have mentioned that in my post. Although the program I mentioned seems to only fix references to already uninstalled programs eg missing uninstaller exes etc that are left behind after uninstalling something. And I always backup my registry befofe that. The program asks you if you want to backup anyway but it is better not to use registry programs unless you have a little experience with tinkering around with your computer beforehand.

Hi, sounds like it could be your DVD Writer. Can you install other games, does the DVD Writer read, other DVD's - eg can you play movies etc. Do you have another CD/DVD Writer that you can test install the game on? The comp specs sound ok and should run the game. Did you clean up the registry between each new attempted install as the registry may have some references left over from previous installs. I use CCleaner which is a free program and usually clears up any registry problems I have but there are others out there. Good luck. Tungston - its in the title for this thread - Deluxe version

Hi, I'm one of the lurkers you mentioned in the last page.I hail from Napier, Hawkes Bay originally so great to see an NZ cj. Love all the history about Auckland which sadly I know far too little about. I also happen to be a nurse - Rehab ward . Got sick of working in Neurosurgery so moved last year. But now have been on the dreaded night shifts for three months, one more week and back permanently to day shifts. Yay! I love how you started this after only one month. About the same time I have owned RH but I'm definately not ready for that yet. So thanks and keep up the good work.

yeah me too. Is there an update on a fix? It's annoying having to search by category especially since I'm in the middle of a complete reinstall of all my plugins - my folder definately needed redoing

Hi, I'm new to the forum and Sim City 4 but not SC3Unlimited or SC2. I just want to say that I would also prefer SC5 not SC:Societies, and that's coming from someone who likes Children of the Nile! but not Caesar 4. I like Caesar3 and Pharaoh but will spend hours on SC3 Unlimited and now probably SC4 and Rush Hour when it arrives in a few days. I like the realism of Sim City and the micromanagement. I don't want easier I like complexity otherwise I just get bored. So heres hoping WW hears these comments and commissions Maxis post Spore to either add an expansion to SC4/RH or starts SC5 the way most people here seem to want it. I also want to take the opportunity to thank all who have contributed their time and creativity through downloads and mods etc to SC4 and SC3 Unlimted - hours and hours of extreme enjoyment to those of us who don't know how to do it for ourselves.
