There is nothing on WikiLeaks that isn't known already or/and found somewhere else on the net. I'm glad it exists as I loath secrecy and ignorance.

Here is my bet on what will happen with this thread: As long as there is still activity, this thread will stay open. Regardless of topic derailment.

I can imagine that the next headline probably reads: 'Imposter Pope okay'd the use of Condoms!' And while that headline is going around, religious fanatics start to scream: SATAN IS HERE! I bet that this is more of an image-thing. I mean, In the Netherlands and Belgium, more and more stories about child-abusing priests, pop up almost every week. -

._. Why on earth is it more expensive to grow crops the natural way? The only way it becomes expensive is that you lose most of the crop. That does not make sense now does it? And you can't wash off those pesticides as the plant absorbs them. Also, ttrying to manipulate nature at what costs? If you take an apple that has been genetically altered to grow better and that has been sprayed with pesticides, take out the seeds and try to grow them, then you are better of watching the paint dry because something about it just won't grow. This was tested by a Dutch agriculture lab a while ago. I can't seem to find it on the net sadly.

Cheaper doesn't equal healthy. See the ridiculous prices for biological food, they just make no sense compared to sprayed veggies/fruit and meat filled with hormones. It just doens't make sense. However, I think that you are better of paying more for biological food instead of paying frequent visits to the phamacy/doctor because you have an unhealthy diet that is giving you al kinds of strange symptoms.

It's because people's free will is an obstacle, that such advertising came to be. You ARE truly being influanced in every decision you make in and around stores through advertsiing and what not. People did scientific studies TO MANIPULATE YOUR CHOICES!

Kids want the toys more then food (really, kids are that shallow) > Promote toys > kids nag the ears off of their parents head to eat there because of them wanting those *FREE* toys > parent gives into the nagging > Profit! And no, people really can't think for them selfs all the time. One who doesn't know better, can't do better. It happens in parenting all the time! And who is to say that it stops at the age of 18 because you are an 'adult'?

Any action an individual takes is selfish. Period. The only difference between desire to help oneself and desire to help others is the effect of the actions taken to fulfil them; fundamentally they are exactly the same thing: a personal want that is satisfying to fulfill and disappointing to fail to fulfill. This is why I laugh whenever anyone says I'm being selfish. You might as well tell me that I'm breathing. And since I have little tolerance for BS, I do not pretend that I am ever acting in the interest of anyone but myself, and generally get annoyed when others do. quote> The line between self preservation and selfishness is a thin one. No one can give continuously without sacrificing him/herself and therefor a delicate balance between thinking for oneself and for others must be kept. I've known people who gave continueasly to the point that they became ill due to the lack of 'me-time'. And when they opt to get some 'me-time' and said 'no' to something, the responses from other people, who were spoiled by the constant giving, told the person that it was an utter selfish act. See how stupid it works in society? There is rarely something wrong with chosing for one self, as long as you aren't tripping on your ego.

Windowwasher's Dream and uhm, Terrain I believe it's called? I like jazz, but the songs from SC3K didn't do it for me. I pref the music from SC4. ESPECIALLY from God Mode. But from Mayor mode, I like Metropolis, Electricity and Oasis..

I just love the subject of education outside the box. Mostly because I'm an out of the box thinking person who was severely harmed by the strict way schools operate. I heard that there is a little bit more flexibility now, but I seriously doubt it has any good outcomes, especially with the current financial situation. Intergrated studies huhn? Reminds me of the montessori type education with the exception of having more freedom in what you can study. Still doesn't cover the kids that have lost all interest in learning all together. I really hope that one day the concept of education will change. I am myself from a 'hidden' group of people/kids that did not thrive whatsoever in the current educational system with serious crap as result like, for example, depressed children that would rather die then go to school. The group I'm mentioning is obviously the group of kids that is A. smarter then average, or B. not very good or fond of the way of thinking that is forced onto you @ schools. People make a lot of mistakes surrounding smarter kids with the biggest evil being the idea that smart kids don't need help, while they most certainly need help in terms of challenging material for example. If they don't, they get unhappy, underachieve etc. while any potential gets destroyed in the process. It doesn't help that kids that need more 1on1 time to thrive, are stuck in classrooms filled with 30 other kids. Oh I could keep going on and on, but I won't.

I feel for the intelligent souls who couldn't bare the idiocy of their surroundings, making them feel like they had no other choice but to resort to stuff like this. Also, link did work for me...

This might be something interesting for our Italian friend, Detective Stan, a doc about the future of Europe according to Beppe Grillo who was banned from Italian TV for speaking his mind. He talks about, how Italy is the root of all problems (probably exaggerated) in Europe, even financially. I'm afraid it's mainly for people that know Dutch or Italian only as there are few parts that are English. http://player.omroep.nl/?aflID=11446073
