When you vote- you vote for a party. Not a Prime Minister. It is like America is it not? The people vote for the party and the party chooses the best person to lead them. Or have I got this wrong? I don't think I have. - In the US, we don't vote for the party we vote for the person unless I really misunderstood 1) the ballot or 2) what you meant

Article 1 section 8 says that Congress can "To borrow money on the credit of the United States; To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;" never says it has to be tied to anything tangible at all. Also as we all know, there were NO money problems back when the US had a gold standard. none at all [/sarcasm]

That's referring to the states not being able to pay in anything else, does not cover the federal government.

I think having the 20 lane highway directly end into a 2 lane road is a bit odd, I would suggest having at least an avenue or something larger there, but I feel it's a bit early to really judge much of it, I do like the variety of skyscrapers so far.

Can you show where in the Constitution it says that it must be backed by gold or silver? I can't seem to find it.

Randomtask- I feel it may just be the way the media works in the US, stories like this always gain more coverage than are really relevant, just liek those Tea parties, woo 250,000 people total out of over 300 million, and some people make it sound like the country was tearing itself apart, who knows.

Japan does have the fancy rail and stuff, however their govt has a debt at 190% or greater of the GDP as well, so its not that they had the money to build it, they have taken on loads and loads of debt to do it, even beyond (comparitively) what the US has.
