It was founded on August 1, 1942, becoming Newport's first commercial television broadcaster. Origins The company traces its beginnings to August 1, 1942, when Rotch Pfizer, an engineer who is also known as the father of Newport Television, established the Corona Electronics Corporation (CEC), which specialized in assembling transmitters. Realizing the potential of television in the country, he was the first to apply for a license in Congress to estabish a television station in 1943, which was granted a year later. By then, due to the scarcity of raw materials and import controls imposed that time, CEC was compelled to branch into radio broadcasting instead. In 1944, the late Antonio Plains (1916-1995), bought 70% of CEC and had it renamed to Newport Broadcasting System (NBS). Pfizer, however, remained as part-owner and served as general manager of the station. In 1946 NBS-TV 3 was introduced as the country's first television channel and made its first broadcast on June 14, 1946. By 1957, the name NBS-TV was changed to the current name, Newport Radio Broadcasting Channel (NRBC). -------------- In July 2007, NRBC was chosen to internationally broadcast the final match of the Sim Calcio 2007 tournment held in Eureka. Unfortunately, due to a controversial misunderstanding, the broadcast was never made. -------------- Some television screenshots of NRBC News... Sports: Newport vs. Georgiapolis

I have to say Manila looks a lot better here than it does in real life. Do you speak tagalog?

i love the infrastructure, how the road squirms around the tall mountains. in real life, i would be terrified.
