Where is Tokyo?

Im sowhat dissappointed that we are missing an impressive city in the world, and the third largest financial centre and the world largest city (according to Emporis http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/ci/?id=100297 ), Tokyo its the place were 33 million habitants live (metro area), and also boast some of the most impressive urban proyects, that came from the 80's Boom and property prices bonanza.
What ever i been trying to build up a map of Tokyo (quite large indeed), but i cant find a proper map to make the adaptation, some help or even if some one its develope one, would be nice if share it for everyone, also Osaka is being forget it, and of course my home city, Mexico City.
in emporis everyone can also find ideas for new skycrapers or imitate those of the world greater cities, in the case of mexico city, the Torre Mayor, Pemex Tower, Altus Tower, Latinoamericana Tower and Arcos Tower are very simcitiable towers...
Anyone Opinion?...

I guess most people on this site dont really care about Tokyo, Japan, etc. Except for some of their parks, buses, etc.

As for your question: Try the main Japanese site (which I dont know by memory 3.gif), and the Massively Gigantic Japanese Gallery [i think thats what the threads title is] thread.

I wouldn't say that people on ST don't care, they just aren't interested in making Japanese buildingd right now. But one thing I really would like to see is some Mexico City buildings, I think that would be great.

I think the problem with rebuilding Tokyo is the extreme complexity of building it. I'd love to see someone take up such a project, but it would be so difficult to make a replica very similar to Tokyo as Tokyo has laid out it's infrastructure in ways that can't be done in SimCity. Laying out the roads alone could be too difficult because it is not gridded like other cities, and some roads run parallel and directly under some of the freeways.

I finally Found a Tokyo Bay map, for SC4, anyone who wants it, im willing to share... and well im not such a purist to make a full recreation of Tokyo, for me would be lot easier represent Mexico City because i live here and i know in a gross way almost all the city, but i like Tokyo i just want to play on the land, not an exact representation.

yeah the one thing about tokyo is that it is HARD to do, esp. on simcity - the roads are in all diff. angles. in addition, there's due to a lack of an asian set - it's hard to make any city look like tokyo (given it's very distinct architecture). there's been a movement among the japanese bat-ers to create a japanese tile set, and as more japanese bats r created, it shud get much better. but yeah, esp. since it is such a huge city, to do a replication of it wud require a huge amount of work.

recreating Tokyo (or any NON-grid based city) in simcity is impossible, it's too complicated...despite how much i want to...
i just realised that i do have a map of Tokyo but unfortunately it has no elevation...just a piece of flat land...if that works i am going to try and post it up to the maps section.

I knew you could get Japanese BATs from that thread, but im talking about real buildings recreated for the game. Thos are all fictional buildings.

There are real buildings on the thread the TMG and the Millenium Tower, which has been uploaded here. The TMG is no longer available on the site but Armandeus
    can help you with that.

I agree that Tokyo is impossible to create in SC4, but maybe Simcity 5 could do it?

Tokyo is the site also of the world's greatest architectural visions. Like Sky City, TRY-2004, Millenium Tower, X-Seed 4000, Mega City Pyramid, and maybe more in the future. Some BATS could be based on these towers and create a "future Tokyo"?

Actually this Morning i started working on the 2nd tallest building in Mexico city, I think is called Torre Ejecutiva Pemex, which is the headquaters of Pemex, the largest oil refinery in Mexico and one of the largest in the world. So expect more Mexican and Latin American buildings on the STEX.

Now why are we reviving a thread that's more than a year old?
