Where do my simtropolis downloads go???

I'm having a problem with downloading. I put the stuff into the Sim City 4 plugins folder, but when I play the game, they don't show up!!! Help? Thanks.

The Space Needle by joerg. It was downloaded 7,135 times, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong...

Well, first of all a stupid question: Did you extract your downloads (zips) to the plugins folder? The files you place should have extensions like .lot and .bat and not the zip itself. You can put it in two places, the Plugins folder in My Documents and the Plugins folder under the Simcity program itself.

Second, did you download all the dependencies? This is usually listed in the download window that pops up. If not, it can be found in a readme file within the zip.

.SC4Lot, .SC4Desc, etc. files should be placed in your plugins folder at \My Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins or C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Plugins, but not both (could cause conflicts)

 

Make sure you're looking in the right menu when you plop the lot, it's probably Landmarks in this case... you should probably check all the menus just in case

 

EDIT: The dependencies are also important, but if the lot isn't even showing up it's probably not a dependency issue
