Trouble logging in

I'm really having trouble logging into this site... this is actually my third account on here that I've had to create(I really don't like doing this, as it probably hogs up space and stuff, but there was no way to get back on the site to do.. anything. And the email admin@simtropolis.com didn't seem to work for me). For some reason, anytime I clear my cache/saved passwords(not sure which, as I usually do both at the same time), I'm unable to log back in here again. I give the correct password and all, but it says that I've provided an incorrect password/username and for me to please try again. I do have cookies enabled, I've checked that many times just to be sure. I'm using Firefox as my browser, and I'd already pm'd ryobolton about this, but he wasn't sure of what to do with Firefox's settings. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! 1.gif

Hello,

The site should be compatible with Mozilla Firefox. For best results, try not using accented letters like

I have that happen too.  Although, I am always capable of logging in afterward.  You might want to quit using saved passwords and switch to another program called Roboform .  It works really well for me.9.gif

Well, even if I type the right password in, it won't log me in.

Welcome to Simtropolis. PM me or others if you need any help.

Are you using hotmail? If you are then you may find Simtropolis e-mails do not arrive. You can find out how to solve this problem here . But if it dosen't work how did you activate your account? 42.gif

Yup what I mean is when not logged into the site to click All Forums, then you will recieve the log in part, log in and then it usually works for me.

Lots of you guys aren't reading my posts since Hordijik is the only one who understands my problem. This isn't my first account here, I actually have two others, beebs and .beebs or something. I can't use those other two because I can't log into them, I provide the correct password(get it sent to my gmail account, use that password sent) and it says log in failed, my password/log in name was incorrect. This only happens after I clear my cache/history in my internet files, so I don't really want to do that anymore since I'd then have to create a fourth account here.

Hordijik- Nope, it doesn't work on that screen either.

Strange your sure your using the right password and member name combination though you can't log in, maybe you could better contact an admin or dirk about this.

Perhaps people are reading your posts but they don't know what you mean. I am now confused by the fact you said earlier...

And the email admin@simtropolis.com didn't seem to work for me).

    Now you say...

Date: 1/15/2006 1:37:25 PM Author: .beebs. (get it sent to my gmail account, use that password sent).

Can I have some verification please on which one of those statements is right. 42.gif

Oh, I see how that could cause a bit of confusion. The admin@simtropolis.com was when I tried to use the Contact Us at the bottom of the page to ask about this problem, but my email just bounced back. The bottom quote was me using the Forgot your password function to retrieve my password to try and log in. So, both statements were correct just worded bad I think. 1.gif

Hordijik- Yep, I'm sure I'm using the right password. I already asked ryobolton through pm's, but he wasn't sure what to do so he directed me to here... you think I should ask dirk now?

I should be... I use the same password for any forum and stuff like that online, so I have it memorized pretty well. Unless when I originally registered back in '03 I was using a different password, which isn't likely, it should work

Perhaps, he is the webmaster of this site so he will know the most about how it works and how to solve it.1.gif

Ok, I pm'd dirk about this, hopefully he has an idea. I just find it weird that after over 2 years of being here it just suddenly would stop working on me.

The reason why I suggested using Roboform is because you said that the problem only happened when you cleared out your passwords from FF.  Hence, if you used roboform, you wouldn't have to worry about cleaning out your passwords from FF and the problem happening again.  I honestly don't know how to fix your problem - I'm just suggesting something to help in the future when you get it figured out.1.gif

Oh, I see. I'm not sure if that would help me either though, since I clear my cache/history/passwords, etc. all at once so I'm not really sure which one causes the problem. But I will remember that, thanks! 1.gif
