MAC/SC5

i haven't been on here in months and couldn't find the mac group, i just started playing SC5 again and have the offline mode. I realized we can add mods now and downloaded this one

 

but don't know where to install it, I'm using OSX 10.8.5 Lion, i also haven't updated to the OS after Lion because i read that it causes glitches in the game, is that still an issue?

No issues with game play for me. As far as downloading mods, check out this YouTube video. http://youtu.be/b8LAP_38pPk ,There is no commentary, which sucks, but if you watch closely it will help. You will also need to unzip the files, I recommend this app. http://archiverapp.com ,It's free for 15 days which should give you enough time to download all the mods you want. Good luck.

I suggest using The Unarchiver for unzipping most packages.

It should be free to download on the app store

Hmmm...

 

Did you make sure to check the boxes for the necessary file extensions in The Unarchiver menu?

 

If not that might be your issue (yes I use the same program).

i did, plus clicked all too.
so do i drop it in...
SC5 file, package content, contents, resources, SC data?

 

some files say can't be open with that app

You can only extract files that end in .ZIP and .RAR.

You cannot open .package.

 

You drop the .package files in the SimCityData folder.

If the file won't open with the app it more than likely is not a zip file and can be placed directly in the SC folder.
