Night lighting with T21s?

Is there a catch on how to get the night lights to work with T21s? It seems all the custom lamps I use  in my T21 do not produce any light... I also use a maxis lamp (1DFB0000) and there I get some light, but it's super weak.

Do I have to place manually light effects (light cones?)?

Well, someone tried to make nightlights work with T21s years ago, but so far, no success. The only way to add nightlights to a T21 is with a Resource Key Type 4 prop with light cones, just like the LRM.
