missing trains

im a bit confused i just had rush hour for i guess a couple of months but very time i place railways and elevated subways... i have not seen any trains in it even if it has electricity. i just wonder why. maybe someone can help and i also downloaded some train mods from bigredfish. but its still the same i dont see the trains... i love the grand railway central but i dont really see any trains... i try putting the usual stations and still the same... i dunno where have all the trains go.... please help me... i dont wanna re-install my game coz i downloaded a lot of cool stuffs here im afriad they might get deleted...

I have seen this question many times throughout the forums I have visted. There are several key points that you need to have before you see trains traveling in your cities. Using the querry button check the stations to see if people are using it. The more people using it the more trains you will see. That brings me on to my next point. Place train stations in places where people can get to them easily and are effective. Add a bus system and place bus stations where rail can't reach and right next to the train stations. You also need more than one train station. I am assuming you already have more than one right now.

i havent seen any activity in those two...

id love to see trains in my city since im having a hard time placing sea transportation...

boggs told me to place parking lots near the grand railway station... but havent seen any trains yet...

It rarely goes with Subway trains, but you can see monorail and light rail trains if there are more than two stations respectively.

hang in there, they appear eventually. The little freight carts are always the first thing to appear....then after some decent rail usage, you'll see the freight train go by. The el-train is a problem I'm having too, it still hasnt shown up at a population of 15,000 (it's the first time I've ever set up an el-train). Try building up the areas around the stations.

Trains, etc only appear when the stations are getting used. Make sure that stations are placed in areas where sims will use them and after a while you should see trains on the tracks.

Make sure your questions are not already asked somewhere else first and also read the Omnibus table of contents for many valuable game hints and many other special goodies.

 

Per my CJ in the experimental Forums; I too have very little use of subways. around 6000 sims use the the subways, in a city of 1 million population!?

 

They all love the buses though.

The problem with trains is may be you may have more than one custom train skins. Did that work?
