Texture Problem with CDK3

Hi guys,

I'm having a little problem with the CDK3 boardwalks and ferry terminals. Everything looks great (really great), except for the car parks in some of the lots (eg the CKD3 ferry terminal). The car parks themselves show as black in colour (and without cars), but the buildings look fine.

Maybe I could just pretend that it's freshly laid tarmac, but it looks odd.

I've got all the dependencies listed with the CDK3 set. Is there a dependency that they forgot to list? Maybe a texture or prop pack from a previous car park lot?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I'm itching to put this pack into action.

Well, there are six ferry landings in my list including the Maxis car/passenger ferry (eight if you count the passenger ferry and the GDV water taxi).

The one labelled "Ferry" does indeed have a fresh blacktop. I guess if you were feeling artistic your could tone it down with the Lot Editor, but I've never found this to be a problem. After all, it is either a prop or a texture, and you can surely fix this yourself.

I've just realized the floor of the parking lot is actually missing! I can see right through to the base of the neighboring dock. The black must be an absense of ground. I'm clearly missing something.

To be precise, I'm talking about the ferry for the OWW2 boardwalk set. It's the same with all the car parks in this set (including the actual OWW2 parking lot).

I'm new to modding, so I don't think I'll be playing with the lot editor just yet :)

    Problem solved!

I had the 'marina' in the wrong folder. Lesson learned - read 'read me' more carefully and pay attention when downloading countless mods/BATs at 2am.

This is my first time posting in the forum btw, so hi to everyone and thanks for all the great stuff I've downloaded

Glad you solved it. Now look around at some of the threads on organizing plugins and downloads. It is well worth the effort.

    Thanks, I will.

And for the benefit of anybody other $%&^!s who have problems with this set in the future, I really recommend using the GDK3 leveler tool to help with dock and boardwalk placement. Great tool. Gets rid of any unsightly alignment issues.

You're looking at one happy city builder!
