Game Crashes At EA Screen

Hi! I'm BeatlesFan789.

Recently, I encountered a problem with the game. Whenever I try to start it up, it gets to the EA screen, stops, and crashes. I have tried un-installing and re-installing the game, and it has not helped. I have also gotten the update for the game, and that hasn't helped either.

This is usually due to a missing hardware component or a disabled one. Make sure you have 3D graphics and accelerated sound. The game won't run if your speakers are unplugged, for example.

Ok, let me try plugging in my speakers, then. My computer's sound system is jacked up for no known reason, so no sound will come out of them anyway. It dosen't matter, it's worth a shot for SimCity 4 :U

Sounds like sound card trouble. What do you mean your sound is "jacked up"? If you do a sound test in dxdiag does it work? Sounds like your sound system appears to be absent to the operating system.

What sound card/chipset do you have? You may simply need a new driver.

I'm not the best with computers, so I'm not sure. I tried to start my Windows Audio Service and this message came up:

"Windows could not start the Windows Audio Service on Local Computer.

Error 1079: The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process."

That's pretty arcane. Probably the account you are running from needs permission to run the windows Audio Service. Did you check the Windows help files on enabling this service? If you can't find anything yourself, see if you can find a friend who can help you locally. Things like this usually need physical presence to solve.

Are you on a network controlled by someone else?

You must install a legal version of SC4 and simple Direct X 9 - no more ...

I have SC4 Delux from 2004 and no any problems ... There are thousands Simtropolians here without any problems ... Try install SC4 step by step and You'll get Your success ...

    Good Luck .. :D

Did you check to see if you have a virus that may be repeatedly deleting the file or renaming it or moving it?

Then get the appropriate permissions. I don't understand why anyone would lock out your sound system. Probably an oversight in setting up the network.

You must have all protection only for YOU - anti-virus and anti-spam !!!

    Good luck ...

im pretty sure there isnt a virus that dosnt affect ONLY simcity commmonly viruses affect the prymary os it self (windows for example) no more no less this can be a simple bug to removal of entire hdd

on the other hand! you could be having missing files that conferm to simcity that your audio driver is or isnt compatible may i suggest vm or dual boot

EDIT: sorry didnt see that you had a network system, yes log in to admin and enable the sound driver and of corse sc4

My message is only about Anti -Virus and Spam - I live with it from 2004 with 40 USD per one year ...

And never had any problems with legal SC4 De Luxe and all Tools with README ...

All of us MUST read README files !!!

And once more - if You can play with Your SC4 Delux with ZERO Plugins - You can play with ALL !!!

    Good Luck ...
