How to install the patch

I am new, made the switch from PC to Mac in January '05 and very happy. Was playing this game on the PC but just purchased the Mac version (same goes with Sims 2).

Forgive me if this has been asked, I looked for the answer before posting but could not find it, the patch from Aspyr. I downloaded it but now what? It will not let me open it without opening it with an application, and I am confused. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

You downloaded a file that ends in .sitx right? You should be able to just double click on it. The result will be an icon with a down arrow on it that is titled Updater. Double click on that and you should be on your way.

If however you can't uncompress the .sitx file, go to
Versiontracker

The link should be to a program called Stuffit. Put that in your applications folder(if it doesn't do it by itself when you install it)

After that, doubleclick on that update you downloaded and you should be on your way.
