Weird Texture Problem

Hi I've been playing SC4 (vanilla) for a few years now, however for some reason I've encounter a random texture

problem with one of my cities (see screenshot attached) even though it was working perfectly fine before.

And yes I have the update installed and I only have a few effect-changing mods installed.

Thats suppose to be a university, this happens to many of my buildings in this city only for some reason.

I'm running Windows 7 with a ATI Radeon HD 5600 Series graphics card.

Does anyone know what causes this problem? and how to fix it? I've tried re-istalling, playing with the graphics settings and compatibilty modes but none of that worked.

I'd appriciate your help.

Wierd.  Are your game graphics setting on high?

If you are running the vanilla version, you do understand that most of the downloads you get from here require the Rush Hour or Deluxe upgrades?  Check and be sure that all the plugins you have are not marked for RH or Deluxe.

Also make sure that all your hardware graphics settings are set to Program Selected.  The program doesn't understand some the neat things that come with the Catalyst software/ATI cards.

Thanks for the response, firstly yes my setting are all set to high and I think my mods should all be fine with the original version.

    Mods included:

    AbandonmentModdv1_2

    CityHalls_Unlocked_Modd

    CrimeDoesntPay

    FarmingJobsMultipliers

    LessAbandonment1

    OperaHouse

    StageLimitsMod

Up until now it's all worked fine.

I'm sorry I don't know what you mean by "make sure that all your hardware graphics settings are set to Program Selected", I'm a bit of a rookie at that stuff, could you please clarify a bit.

OK, well assuming you have the same kind of Catalyst control set up that I do, if you open the Catalyst Control Center you will find a tree set up with settings for:

    Anti-Aliasing

    Adaptive Anti-Aliasing

    Anisotropic Filtering

    Mip Map Detail

    More Settings

In each of these, you want to make sure the box for "Override application setting" is not checked.  You want your applications to select the options they understand.  SimCity 4 does not understand any of these, so won't use them, and will probably do funny things if any of them are forced on it.

I don't think it's a graphics problem. The graphics look fine. You are however missing all of the props on the University lot. Did you accidentally delete one of the simcity_#.dat files ?

Believe in only what you can prove.

Thanks but no luck, I tried the catalyst control center thing but it didn't work. I don't think its a missing prop either because it only has this problem on one city, all the others are fine. Plus I've tried re-installing it and that didn't work.

The other thing it could be is prop pox, which is uncurable as far as I know.  Not only that, but the infection spreads.

Dang it, nothing seems to work. And now to make things worse I have brown boxes appearing. Urrgh! There must be some missing props somewhere even though I haven't installed any building or texture mods.

So my city and all other cities in the game are ruined? And just when I got up 85,000 people, typical.

    Thanks for your help.
