fonzyfb73: I'll assume you know how to use ILive Reader.

To get rid of the base texture, open the lot file in Reader.

Find the property where the last entry is the Base Texture ID.

It will be one of the LotConfigPropertyLotObjectData records with 0x00000002 as its first value.

Highlight the property, right click, and select Delete property.

Then right click and select Reindex LotConfig.

Select File, Save, Yes. You're done.

That's all there is to it.

Have fun.

Now, on a critique note: I like the signs I see except for the veritcal support. A bit wimpy. If you look at the pics in this thread of real life photos, you'll see what I mean. Add some testosterone before the wind blows your signs over like a little girl. Otherwise, everything else is very well done. Keep up the good work.

A simple "I think your signs need more vertical support" would have done the trick just fine, thank you.

Message received, at any rate.  I'll do my best to incorporate your suggestions in my next pack.

I'm going to take a small break from the request pile to do a set that I've wanted to do for some time now:

    A Buffalo, NY set!  This will feature real-world (and up-to-date) signs for I-90, I-190, I-290, I-990, NY 33, and NY 198.

    Coming soon to the STEX!

It's OK - I just don't often get critiques like that - threw me off a bit.

Now, then - here's an update on "Project Buffalo", which is a re-creation of signage for the area highways of Buffalo, NY:

The signs look very good. A bit of texture (a touch of rust or other such weathering effects) to the supports might improve things (IMO). Unless of course they're supposed to be brand spanking new.

Maybe an over avenue version in a prop family. Something like what you would see driving in a city. Signs that direct you to the highways maybe. Just a thought.

I could do these myself but I'd rather not duplicate the effort since yours are coming along so well.

@mrtnrln(try to speak it in one word XD): nice work, I think the pylons for the road side and the Crash barrier in the middle of the RHW6C I would use to. may you can make these Crash barriers for RHW4 and 6 too...quote>

Hamburg is also a suburb of Buffalo.  2.gif

Brand spanking new indeed, my friend - we're building signs that will last several SimLifetimes.  I'm sure no mayor wants to be spending $1M or so every year on signage replacement.  3.gif

    Thank you very much.

Just curious, are you going to release the roadside pylons in some kind of mod? They look great - they're definately missing in the game...

@ImVhOzzi & Mr.X.1.: I'm actually planning to release both the reflectors (the things you refer as pylons) and the guard rails (although only for the C RHW-versions due to slope issues). I just not have them finished yet, meaning there's still a lot left that needs to be covered. These mods may be part of a new version of the RHWAM (Real HighWay Addon Mod), including some more signs (like lane setups, exit markers and chevron signs).

^ Sounds good, but I still want to try the guard rails out for other networks than "C RHW", so couldn't you make two files and the ability to delete one of them, if it looks stupid. I rarely use my RHW

hmm, I think for the left side you should make ploppable crash barriers, because not every time there are some on the left side, just always on the right. And I think It looks 1st better at the other RHW-Types and is more realistic (it bothered me all along that there are no crash barriers). But I think it is your decision, I just can tell you what I think.

And at the searching for "Autobahn"(german word for Highway) I find something for pitti for the RHW10(there weren't sings in the last set.

and something more what I think is helpful:

Nice work, I might have to start making western Canadian road signs soon after I finish my bat learnings and jump in here.

I downloaded my sign requests, but I noticed a bug:

The thing in the menu said they were for RHW-6S, but I tried it with RHW-6S, and this happened:

No, he uses the RHW-6S. I think these signage sets are designed for RHW-6S with a one-tile median.

By the way, this is how the guard rails for diagonals look on a very slight slope:

    barogin4okt191288618653.png

I tried almost everything, without success...

    barogin3nov191288622721n.png

And that's why I don't apply them for the other RHW networks...

For my problem, I'll let ryan or vince answer it, since they made the signs.

@ NTM - Those signs were made for RHW-6S applications. You've got a RHW-6C in that picture.

Here's a diagram of how it should work:

    [RHW-6s (1 tile w/ overlap into 2nd] -- [1-tile gap] [sign base plop]

I'll try to include a picture in the next couple of days.

@mrtnrln: How does the guard rails for orthogonals look on a very slight slope?
