Here is the story, although it looks like now officials are calling the second bomb threat this week a false alarm.

Who do you think is behind the first threat...and maybe the second?

We know who was behind the "first one" - the Pakistani-American guy.

This seems like somebody just misplaced their bag and in the heightened awareness after the actual threat it got noticed as a "suspicious package" where it otherwise would not have.

Heightened awareness?  Well, maybe, but what I see is just a little panic.  "When in danger or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout."  What did this exercise in "security" cost?  What was in the "suspicious package".  I suspect someone forgot his lunch.

Well, I heard that the NYPD got more than 400 calls of "suspicious activity" since this failed car bomb......so it's good that people are alert.

Eh, there'll always be people hating you US, bomb threats happen, but usually its nothing. I wouldn't be worried.

The good thing about New Yorkers is that we take the "if you see something, say something" phrase seriously. Like Mayor Michael Bloomberg said a few days ago, New York is America. I am in midtown Manhattan right now actually and there is ALOT of police activity on pretty much every avenue by the major corners. Especially in the aftermath of the failed attack, the city will be on full alert.
