Hey, this model is going pretty well, I really miss the old buildings from SC3K. About your textures, I think you should use a Red Brick texture or a detailed cherry paint texture, and don't forget to follow gascooker's tutarial to fake ray tracing.

BTW: could you please convert your future BMP and PNG images in to JPG, My connection took a really long time to display your pics. 2.gif

As with all the SC3K buildings, they have a fake, plastic look to them, and although I want to make this remake look as real as possible, it seemed that this building is not your ordinary building.  I sort of thought the walls might have a smooth shiny red finish like glass.  I tried that but the effect didn't look all that good.
I think possible red pannels of something like plaster might look good.

Keep the suggestions comming.....it's very helpful!

I have posted in the official Textures thread a couple of textures that might be useful.

Well I tried many different textures and I did the building in just such a way that even after playing around with the UV maps a bit, nothing really looked right.  I think I might stick with the glassy look and just make it shiny red, true to the SC3K building.

Then that might be the solution to your texturing problems, you can also try to aplly a common UVW mapping, your model is excellent but it lookis too cartoonish with that plain cherry red.

Scippy, i think i found a bug on your Fortune Cookie Corp :/

    ffc3og.gif
Well, i atleast think its a bit to high to be low density ^^
it just happned to grow on the outskirts of one of my towns, sure it has a pop above 50k, but this is a low density area ^^ and the stats seem quite wrong?

Might just be a conflict, but could be some error on the file. its on a 3x3 corner lot facing east(on the pic).

    Cheers
