Can you adjust the Mouse Wheel Zoom speed?

Hi,

I am new to Cities XL and have two questoins.

1) Is there an 'offical' forum, or is Simtropolos the main place most people post for this game?

2) Is there any way to adjust the zoom speed when using the mouse wheel or even the keys?  I must move the mouse wheel 1 notch and it zooms in too much, especially when I am already near the objects on the ground.  Same thing happens with 1 press of the key command.  Is there some file I can tweak to adjust it?

Hi,

1) There are several forums about Cities XL, no official though. Simtropolis is the main unofficial one. You are welcomed to ask here everything that bothers you about the game.

2) This is a known shortcoming of the game. There is no known fix about it. Just be more precise when you zoom and rotate and you will get used to it.

Regarding your point 2 - you could try the camera mod here: http://www.citiesxs.net/forum/index.php/topic,983.0.html

It gives more zoom levels and makes it more controllable.

regarding the new camera mod, i actually found it even hard to deal with MC's ultra-sensative mouse wheel. if you can write LUA scripts then maybe you can help us all out and come up with a mod for this exact issue.

Agreed the rotation is way too sensitive still, but if you have a proper gaming mouse (I have a Logitech G5) they generally have an 'on-the-fly' resolution changer, so by putting it on the less sensitive mode it slows the rotation down to a much nicer feel!

For zoom though (the OP's original problem) this mod works just fine in my experience.

Having said that, I haven't played CXL for a good few months now

...so take my words with a healthy pinch of salt
