Strange behavior with zoning

Hello,

I had a custom Residential building (i guess 570 LEX) which i plopped and later it turned dark due to no demand and hence I tried to remove it but wasn't able to Dezone or just Bulldoze it. So what I did was to delete the necessary plugin files and the building is gone but I was not able to use those zone squares for rezoning or placeing anything over there.

Has anyone seen this? Any idea how I can reclaim that place.

Also from time to time some buildings go old and dark and most of the time they say Vacant and I can demolish them or create demand but sometimes even occupied buildings go old and dark like structure. Is that normal? Is there a way to restore them to new like building?

Thanks

It's happened to me before. Sometimes custom content and plugins can lead to buggy results in SC4, however its a rare occasion. If its a custom building you really want, try reinstalling and testing again. Perhaps plugins are conflicting in your folder.

Buildings that go dark and are occupied mean that they are in an area that is undesirable. For example, a R$$$ high wealth lot in an undesirable neighborhood (usually crime, pollution, or low education) will blacken and become a R$$ or R$ lot. Make sure your neighborhoods are desirable enough to keep around the higher wealth tilesets.
