Hello,

I have in past used an older verison of this program and i was great, but for some reason I can not get this new one iLive 093 to actually save.  When i open SimCity_1.dat  and change some of the monthly costs, or power/water outputs, and hit save, it will nto save. (this use to work before)

I am running windows 7, and running the program as admin.

any one know why this is not saving or is there a better mod out there for changing these values.

Dont save from the analyser, and make sure you hit the right apply button after you make the change.

Save from the main window, you have to save using the disk button dont save using the menu.

After 20 minutes I got it to work by making all my changes in analyser, click out of analyser, click and messing around with files in the main ilive reader screen(but not changing anything) then clicking the disk looking save button and after 10 or so failed menu save attempts, clicking the button gave me a full 141 meg changed dat file.

Also make sure your editing the file in your maxis/deluxe or whatever is in the maxis folder. there is sometimes a dat file inside the maxis folder itself, you have to go deeper and edit the deeper file for me its

C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe    -------   SimCity_1.dat

as opposed to the SimCity_1.dat

in my

C:\Program Files\Maxis\

folder.

Just keep trying to save in different ways,  i found 3 ways to save, the third way worked.

ZIP YOUR ORIGINAL SimCity_1.dat file.

Keep the original file safe, major crash issues for many small tweaks.

It is highly recommended NOT to edit the SimCity_1.dat and save that file again. It's a 137 MB file and the Reader was not designed to save such a huge file structure. Instead, copy the files that you want to modify to a new *.dat and put it into your plugins folder. You can "collect" exemplar files via "File/Add to patch" in the Exemplar Analyser and then "File/Save recorded exemplars" in the Reader's main window. If you're using the Building Tweaker, there's a "Save as DAT" button available.
