Problem Installing Update on Win XP

All,

I found that the update would download, but when I clicked on "install", the program would close and nothing would happen.  Which made me quite cross.

Aftter a bit of furtling, it appears that the problem is in the updater.bat file which is supposed to run the updates.

A solution which worked for me is:

1 - find the update files (in C:\Documents and Settings\[Your User Name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Monte Cristo\Cities XL\download)

2 - copy them into the main cxl directory (c:\program files\monte cristo\cities xl)

3 - run them in order (they are named 1.0.3.297 to 1.0.3.315 etc, so it's pretty obvious)

4 - that's it!

I've contacted their tech support so hopefully they will get this sorted for the next update.

I have the same problem.

But I don`t have in my XP version the folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\[Your User Name]\Local Settings

How can I find it???

I tried with start - search - monte cristo - but it has found only the game folders.

Plz help!

Ok it is solved.

I am quite a fool.

It seemed that I had the hidden folder - option ON

I have another problem now, but the update is installed.
