Needs Help

First, what a cool community. I'm glad I found something like this to enhance my SC4 gameplay.

Let me get right down to it. I understand the basics (i.e. downloading .zip's, extracting to plugin folder). That's all well and good. But I am having trouble accessing the functionality, or lets be honest, I don't understand the package I've downloaded. It all seems so easy. Download, extract, place, play game with cool content.

Allow me to provide a specific example. I recently downloaded the PEG MTP super pack because when I saw what it comprised it blew my mind. The snapshots were great and all dependencies were in one convenient location. I then extracted the PEG folder to its location as specified by the readme. I then opened the game. Nothing. I searched everywhere to find a way to access or use the content I had just installed, but alas, I am not understanding something. Do I need a seperate program? Am I hopelessly beyond saving?

Any help would be much appreciated. However, if you tell me to refer to the readme, that simply will not help, as I am not a mentally handicapped and have already done so. Thanks to anyone who can help me resolve this issue.

(p.s. no other addons installed)

Before anyone answers this question, you should consider changing this thread title to something that doesn't include sware words.

I didn't realize that the word I used in the title was considered offensive. My apologies.

It's not, sometimes things just get a little over the top.

So you've extracted everything in the .zip folder to your plugins folder? If you've done that correctly then anything you've downloaded should appear in whatever menu the readme says it should.

Note that there are actually two plugins folders, you might have gone to the wrong one.

C: Program Files/Maxis/SimCity 4/Plugins is the wrong one. C: My Doccuments/SimCity 4/Plugins is the correct one.

Btw, the PEG MTP super pack is actually a dependency in itself. You need to download some of PEG's lot files before you'll actually see anything in the game.

Knowing which folder is which would tend to help things a bit wouldn't it. Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate it. I'm going to see if I can't download more of PEG's files and carefully follow the instructions to get the desired effect. Thanks again!
