A mod said to go ahead and post this here, so yeah...

Whenever Cities XL tries to start on my system, I get an "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002). Click OK to close the application." error.

Another user mentioned there was a patch for this on the Cities XL beta page, but seeing as how that's down... does anyone else possibly have it already? And just wondering, is anyone else getting this error?

Big thanks to those who can help.

hmmm didn't get that kind of error but did get bounced several times.... :-(  .... I think they may be overwelmed with joy and excitment!!  /grin....

That sounds more like a client side installation issue then a web based issue......  wish you luck -- I know I havent been much help!

If you are not using Vista or XP SP3 you might need to install the .Net framework from Microsoft, available here :http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856EACB-4362-4B0D-8EDD-AAB15C5E04F5&displaylang=enquote>

The 32bit version won't install on a 64bit OS, and I already have the 64bit version of that installed.

I found the solution! Or at least it worked for me. I was just clicking around in the game directory, and it turns out theres a file called "vcredist_x86" this will install the C++ 2005 SP1 redistributable package. I really don't know why this worked, but it did. Try running it.

    Good luck!
