Trouble Downloading

I am having trouble downloading from the STEX.  When I choose a BAT (or some other download), I can save it to my plug-ins file, it downloads to the file, but then when I go to try and open it from the download box, it says "windows cannot open the folder. ...access is denied".  When I go to search my plugins folder for the download, I have to choose "Compadability Files" to find it.  I am not sure what the issue is.

I have Vista running on an HP laptop that was bought late last fall.

Any help someone could give would be much appreciated!

Are you on Vista and trying to save to the Program Files Folder?

If so, follow these steps:

Navigate to the SC4 folder

Right-click on Plugins, select Properties

Click on the Security tab

Click Advanced

Click Edit

Provide administrator permission

Uncheck 'Include inheritable permissions from this object's parent'

In the dialog box, click Copy

Double-click the line that says Users under 'Name'

Check 'Full Control' under Allow

Click OK until all dialogs are closed.
