ac airports version 2.0 help

i am using simpegs seaports in one city tile and there are none in the other city. i dwnloaded the airport mod and when i try to open the city w the ports the city starts to load then just crashes to desktop, since the mod has upgradable seaports in it is this causing the problem? are they not compat?

yeah, if you check the readme for Peg's seaport, it says not to use any other seaport stuff

i use the simpeg cause for some reason i can't figure out that the original maxis seaport icon it not there, so therefore i will have no seaport options any clues? thanks

you can only use one seaport controller at once - the PEG Seaport replaces the Maxis one, that's why the icon is gone

and the airport seaport is conflicting with the PEG one, you can't use two at the same time, that's why you're crashing.

If you really want to try both and do something risky... go into My Documents/Simcity4/ Plugins, and try deleting any seaport lots that came with the ac airports v2. Then see if any of the remaining airport lots in the pack still function. It might not work, it depends on how they created the pack, so make sure you have a backup of the original airport you downloaded.

If it doesn't work you have to choose which seaport you want and stick with that.

ok but when i remove the airport mod and the peg seaports the original icon still doesnt show up its gone some how?

PEG's seaport controller is not in the PEGPROD folder, it's called zzzPEGPROD Seaports or something like that, so you need to delete it it's at the bottom of your Plugins.

The Plugin files load first to last alphabetically, so seaport controllers, airport controllers, automata, terrain, etc. loads whatever is alphabetically the last one - it overrides anything listed before it. PEG's seaport has "zzz"s in it to make sure it overrides any other seaport. That's probably why you had crashes with the airport. Make sure you remove that, then see if the default seaports are back.

Seaports and airports are really tricky, make sure you read the readmes included with any download and know exactly where everything installs in your plugins folder so you know what to remove if there's a conflict

no - what I'm saying is that you can't have two of the same. According to the OP, the airport lots he downloaded also contain an upgradeable seaport, and he already had a custom seaport, so it was crashing. Yeah, it's confusing - it's not really clear what it is he actually downloaded.

I'm not 100% positive, but you should be able to have a custom airport and a custom seaport at the same time as they are separate controllers. But only ONE of each.
