Problem Saving Cities in Newly created region

ive just started a new region and spent about 90 minutes laying the infrastructure for the first city i was going to start in this region, to be given a Error Saving City messagebox, so all that time is down the drain, so i quit SC4, reloaded it, recreated a new region (because the other 1 wasnt there anymore) and then put down literally 2 road tiles so it wasnt a blank city, clicked Save

exact same error message appears

this is really annoying and i figured since the game is about 5 or 6 years old i surely cant be the 1st person to suffer from this, so if anybody can help me out it'd be appreciated as i cant really do anything otherwise

thanks

error is as follows, no point in getting a screenshot for it as its 1 line

Error Saving City. (City - New City.sc4)

thats all it says, a couple of days ago i moved my Documents folder to program files because of sc4mapper, before finding out that you cant make your own regions with it so i then moved Documents back to their original location

i was told this is probably the cause of the problem so i uninstalled sc4, then reinstalled it, but the error remains and so i cant play the game at all until this is resolved

well , try updating your system , and if your using crossover linux to emulate windows in linux and tried to install it in that , but thats highly unlikely , you might just try using windows(just a little joke)

check to make sure you have plenty of space in your hard drive(at least a few hundred megabytes) looks to me that its either that or your region folder or even my documents is corrupt.

I suggest changing the title of this thread so that more people will look and possibly come up with answers , only 40 people have veiwed this message.

    good luck.

ok i can save new cities in currently existing regions, it seems the only region i cant is the one i just created using scracc

i changed the bmp name to config and the only other file in the region folder is the region file which holds the configuration settings

ive done ctrl + shift + alt + r to import the grey bmp region image and it looks how i wanted it to during region view

    am i missing something here?

ive got enough disk space and im using windows vista
