Software rendering fixed the choppiness for me. I, too, have seen the choppiness on new Core 2 Duo hardware on Vista 32/64 with powerful nVidia Quadro cards. I didn't realize it was due to the PCI Express bus. Thanks for the info.

It isn't. 28.gif The problem more than likely lies with the Nvidia Quadro card you have. Quadro series graphics adapters are meant for CAD design, 3D work, etc. not for gaming. Quite a few games have some sort of trouble when being run Quadro or FireGL cards. Not all of them, it isn't always serious, but nevertheless, just because a game is old does not mean it will have trouble with newer technology just because it is just a few years ahead of the technology that existed when the game was made. Now of course, if an older game uses something such as the Glide API it's going to have trouble running on that new Radeon 4870 you just bought.... And, no need to really go into why an AmigaOS game won't run on Windows (unless you use an emulator, but then it's not truley running on Windows). 2.gif

that PCIe being a problem for SC4 is just misinformation!

Ive had 3 computers with PCIe since 2005 and have had no problems with stuttering (Except my latest build with Vista64 as OS)
