no CD-Patch

 I have installed SimCity on my Linux computer, and it was working before, but since the new update of wine, it wont detect my SimCity cd, and according to this thread https://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=22&threadid=96881&highlight_key=y&keyword1=linux I need a no CD Patch for the game to run. I tried posting in that topic, but it seems to be dead, and I would like a solution.

So, I tried looking for a no cd patch, but all the websites that host them look extreamly shady. So, if someone knows where I can get a good one either respond to this topic or pm me (I'm not 100% if this is against forum rules, even though I bought the game). Thanks.

yes it is in fact against the forum rules to ask for a no CD patch, but yea i do understand the problem your having. check the "bugs&technical" threads for answers, and maybe even post there. u may get more repsonse.

I have used the no-cd patch before. I chose to no longer use the no cd patch as the night lights of custom buildings would not light up. If you still wish to run the program without a disc, I would advise you to make an image copy of the disc and run the image on a phantom dvd drive. The game loads and plays faster with no visual or performance sacrifices.

Discussion of things such as No-CD patches here is against the rules.

Also, if you would look a the thread I created, you wouldn't need to use a patch.
