I need help with confusing demand

So, I downloaded Industry multiplier x4 and it went through the phase of high-rises being created to people needing jobs etc, and now I am in a situation where there is high-wealth residential demand, and negative IHT demand, BUT at the same time, i have my high-wealth residents who are out of jobs! Not only that more high-wealth buildings are popping up, resulting in more No jobs. So how can IHT be in low demand when there is so much high-wealth? Do they all want Manufacturing industry?? Here is the screenshot. And there are other high-wealth buildings that show no jobs.

Crap, iConstruct, that sounds like a doozy... Like several problems in one. Let's see...

1 - Are you referring to the "Industrial Quadrupler Mod"? If so, this doesn't modify demand or anything, it just increases the jobs-per-building four times. Demand stays the same, yet can easily get altered when more Residents than usual are finding work due to said Mod. This could potentially create inbalance...

2 - You have loads of R$$$ yet negative HT? Wow, that is odd... Perhaps you could try to let the game run a few Simyears, as that seems to "naturally" solve most problems around... if it doesn't, then check everything: Education charts (how high is your EQ?), Desirability citywide for HT (Demand can get tremendous negative effects for an occupant type if the entire city is undesirable), etc. I have no idea really how to tackle this... Were it my own city, I'd either try to see if it rides it out, and if not, Obliterate it.

3 - Having lots of R$$$ with that hated "No Job" zot is probably the most common problem for every single SC4 player. This just occurs when no jobs are available for their ranks (CEO's, etc.). Increase either Industrial or Commercial numbers to fix this. Also, there's a download (not really a mod, just a .dat file) here on the STEX that will limit the development of R$$$ structures and citizens. It's not bad at all as it sounds: it raises the required desirability criteria for R$$$, so it'll limit their numbers a bit, and you'll only get R$$$ when you have enough jobs. I have it and it works wonders. (Although now, it's my R$$ that are suffering... damn it all!)

That's really all I can do to help... Hope it does, anyway.

I’m a guy who just can’t guy right.

Yes, it is the Industry quadrupler mod. Ah! I really don't want to have to obliterate it because alot of my nice high-wealth rises like Cobb's Central Park are the ones who have no jobs and it took me a long time to get it grow! 15.gif

Have you looked at the garbage situation? You have a red letter notice about garabage problems. Quary a R$$$ redisdence and see if they are happy with there living conditions. Plus commercial isn't happy when there is too much garbage.

The quadrupler has always worked fine for me so I don't think thats part of your problems.

Hmm, maybe that's the problem! It's been alerting about the garbage problem...although I'm not sure how that's related to low IHT and high R-$$$ demand.

I have Simgoober's waste to energy plant, but i dont' know how to use it....

Do you have a neighboring city that will take your garabage? Even if you first have to increase garbage capacity in the other city to allow a neighbor deal to go through it could be worth it to get the garbage completly out of a nice residential city since its a real inhibitor of growth.

Plus its so cheap to the city exoprting garbage that it saves much needed funds for a residential city.

I hate to bump up an old thread, but i was searching for any answers to my recent problem, and this seemed to be similar to my issue. I also downloaded the same industry quadrupler mod, and i noticed it did increase jobs in the industrial buildings, but my demand for all industries went through the floor. All except for the farming industry. I nearly covered a large city with farms. I made the farms as small as possible to hopefully match my farming demand without taking up all my space. This didn't help either. Every so often, high tech demand will go slightly above zero, but after one building is built, it drops below zero again. I made a connected city on the side, and filled it with farms to hopefully help, but so far nothing.

From what i read, maybe i need to raise my sim's education, but theyre pretty smart. Its ridiculous because farms provide so few jobs, and people keep leaving because theres not enough jobs.

Maybe i'm just too worried, and this is normal. I haven't played much sim city 4 in ages, so i'm trying to get back into it. But yea, sorry for such a long post, i suck at explaining things. But it any case, it's good to see simtropolis is still around!

Check out E.07 and E.08 in this FAQ. You might be hitting demand cap limits.

    IA    |30,000| (Cumulative Cap)
    ID    |14,000|
    IM    | 7,000|
    IH    | 4,000|

Some reward buildings raise demand caps for ID, IM and IH.

    http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/561176/21501

After a high tech industry is built HT demand will fall and R$,R$$ R$$$ will rise When new residents move in they will create demand for HT industry

Everything else about your demand is not normal.
