type  "program to remove duplicate files " in your search bar,there are lots avalable....some are free..youll have to look around a little.....some of them show time stamps on the duplicates it finds ,so you can remove old versions and keep only new ones.i hope this helps you out.

Well, currently I'm using Duplicate Files Deleter to find & delete duplicate files. It's pretty effective with multiple settings on how thorough you want to be and it categorizes the results.

Generally speaking, I keep a pretty tight rein on my Plugins content. The chances of having a duplicate are very slim as I keep very careful tabs on it. My method is simple. I keep a separate <user>/Downloads directory for all downloads and a sub-directory for SC4 related ones. Not all of these are plugins, because I keep the Maxis patches and any Regions I download there too. Mostly it is kept by author, and my Plugins directory reflects the same structure with the exception of directories that start with multiple 'z's for final load forcing.

It isn't hard to do this, but it is time consuming. I suppose being something of a computer geek and very conservative as well, has kept me in line. I just don't go wild on plugins.
