That is a typical sign of eternal commuters.

Did you install the CAM in an existing region and did you in that case read the manual thoroughly?

Was the region empty or did you already have developed cities in it?

If there are no neighbouring cities and if you've never played the region before, you shouldn't have those problems.

For getting deeper into solving this I would prefer to have a report from the Census Repository Facility, version 2 (link in my sig). If you could build that one in your city and take a snapshot of its query and post it here, it might be easier to see what the problem is.

You need RalphaelNinja's original upload for the building (the bat model), otherwise you will get a brown box. Read the post for detailed instructions on how to install it.

Verson 2 of the Census Repository is attached to the end of that first post.

Maybe you just needed to wait for the simulator to get started. Sometimes it takes a couple of months before anything happens...

If everything is alright now, I won't need to see the Census query. 2.gif

However, you might learn something of the game's supply/demand simulation from using it yourself.

Have fun and good luck with the CAM! 1.gif

this might not be a CAM problem. i've had residential demand problems ever since my cities began hitting the 750,000 mark. basically all the residential demands would plummet, while IHT and some commercial would be up. at one point, nothing was up, except for IHT. however, i have alleviated some these problems by lowering some taxes to entire people to live in my cities. however, R$ is always up all the time. so it just might be your cities. oh and don't build country clubs. i used to have like 5 in one city to try and attract higher wealth, they don't really care for that. i ended up getting rid of all of the country clubs and crap. i would say, try lowering taxes and waiting, if not try more industrial. if not, try parks and better mass transit.

on another note, one of my cities has about 400,000 residents and like 450,000 commercial jobs, dont ask me. its weird.

mistershnerples, you might also want to download the Census Repository Facility (version 2, in my sig). That could give you some of the solutions to your demand problems.

I installed the CAM on my newest region that had barely 30,000 sims and mostly worked on farms. Nothing happened to my old cities but the minute I started a new city I got so much demand for industry (mostly IM) and commerce (mostly CS$$) that I could barely keep up with it. Meanwhile, residential demand went flat for RE$$ and -6000 for RE$$$ and skyrocketed for RE$. Right now I don't mind it since I am still laying down my region's structure but, if this keeps happening to my cities in the future, it will become a problem. I use the radical ordinance mod but, since I didn't need it, I didn't enforce laws to help RE$$ or RE$$$ growth. Also I know I should have read the CAM manual but I didn't. I am going to download the Census lot and post a report here so maybe you guys could help me.

P.S.: What is that eternal commuters thing?

    EDIT: Report attached.

I honestly don't love CAM. I think it creates unrealistic metropolises. Just me though.

What are eternal commuters? Goldton and Elleson are facing the same problems, the CO demand in Goldton is extremely high, while the R demand in Elleson suffers greatly.

I read the CAM manual and what I found out is that, sometimes, cities are connected to each other and that makes a worker loop.

This happens when cities are built with industries far away from the main residential area and, at the same time, the connections are close to those residential areas. Sims assume it's easier to find jobs in the near town and forget about the jobs in their hometown.

I had some of this problem but my region is being developed horizontally. I have something like 6 medium cities in a straight line so one only connects to 2 others besides it. What I am going to try is isolate these already built cities and start fresh for the next line. Could this help me? I am assuming the game would restart the RCI demand for a city that is not connected to anything. Kind of like a region within a region sort of speak.

You need to decide for yourself. Read the threads in the CAM board.
