Elevated highways problem?

Hi,

I have connected 2 cities.  One cities only for Residential and Commercial, connected to one city as Industrial City.

I connect with Road.  2 Roads to be exact.  Afterthat, both become very traffic jam.  To solve this I build elevated Highways to connect 2 cities to replace the roads.

The problem, looks like my Resident don't know how to use the new elevated highways.  They don't use it.  While I demolish the 2 roads connection already.

In the Industrial City, I also see they only use elevated highways for trucks and not for car or bus.

Is there a bug here?  How to solve this problem?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Arto.

Are there enough connections on the freeway for the residents to get on? If there's only one or two on-ramps, it won't do a thing. Hope this helps! TopCliff

    Thanks for reply.

Yes there are.  At least 4 on each elevated highways.  There are 2 elevated highways connected to Industrial city.

Yes, I am waiting more than 1 or 2 years in case 'Resident delayed find a way'.

    Hi,

Finally found the culprit. The auto ramp that single ramp cause the problem as the car and bus can't find a way.

Changing the ramp to double ramp solve the problem but with cost that I need to replace all the single ramp. %"@!"&*!

    Regards,

    Arto.

It's a pretty good idea to put ramps on both sides of your elevated freeways if you want to get the most use out of them. If you drag a road underneath a elevated freeway and there is room, it will automatically ask whether you want to place those ramps. Trucks, regular people, everyone uses them.

Yeah. My mistake to use auto ramp that give single ramp instead of dual ramps. Costly mistake. My Resident went down from about 12.000 to 8.000. But now is shoot up again to around 22.000...

    Arto.
