Problem with unzipping files

Hello,

I just downloaded the latest NAM (June 2007), but when I tried to unzip it, WinRAR says that the archive has an unknown format or that it has been damaged. The same happened when I tried to unzip the latest version of the SC4 Terraformer. What is wrong with these files? Is it somehow possible that these files are corrupted? The files concerned are first and the third one listed in the Modds and Downloads section.

I have had the same problem with a number of files (not just in the modds section) but live in the UK. I have eventually been able to get most of them but after repeated attempts! I have found closing unecessary windows and programs and not disturbing the download (e.g. browsing other parts of the site) seems to help. But if anyone can sort this out I would appreciate it!

Possibly you both have incomplete downloads.  Some users, not everyone, have a problem with the downloads seeming to complete.  Check the size, and if it is not the right one, download the file again.  It may resume if you use exactly the same file to save it to.

The NAM for June is 10MB.  If your file is not 10MB, you didn't get it all.

I have suggested a download manager that will resume incomplete downloads.  The one my wife likes is Flashget.  If you use firefox, there is an interface to flashget called Flashgot.

I did get 10MB, but when I try to open the compressed folder it says its invalid o'r corrupted. GAAH!

Perhaps someone could alert whoever has access to the file to make sure there isn't something wrong with it...

The file has been checked several times now.  I downloaded it successfully.  What kind of a download circuit are your running?  Have you tried a download manager such as Flashget?
